Palestine 36 is a spectacular, deeply human film about the beginning of Palestinian emancipation. Directed by Annemarie Jacir, the film features Hiam Abbass in a leading role, alongside Kamel El Basha and Saleh Bakri. While Yusuf, a journalist, takes a stand against increasing censorship and repression, his best friend Khalid becomes increasingly radicalized and joins the growing resistance. Their story unfolds in 1936, a time when clashing ideals escalated into an armed conflict between Palestinian freedom fighters and brutal British officers.

Make the most of your evening on Monday, September 28 (starting at 6 PM) by first enjoying delicious plant-based dishes prepared by Palestinian chef Intifooda Kitchen. The meal costs €12.50 and consists of various homemade dips and salads featuring bulgur, grilled vegetables, and fresh herbs. Proceeds go to the Palestinian Film Festival Amsterdam (PFFA), which helps preserve Palestinian culture by supporting the film sector of this beleaguered nation.

Hi friends,

We are delighted to announce a collaboration between @intifoodakitchen and @maria.cooks.vegan. After the success of our community dinner in May, we are bringing you a four-course plant-based dinner with an array of dishes born of a fusion between our native culinary traditions. Expect hearty fare feauring colorful vegetables, such as dips and dumplings, with plenty of Arabic spices. More details about the menu will be revealed later.

This time around, we are happy to be hosted by the amazing Ruby and @cocoonbrunch!

Attended a vegan community dinner at @kas_keerweer yesterday. It was a west asian eastern european fusion made by @intifoodakitchen and @maria.cooks.vegan. The dishes were:

1. Beet and tahini dip with horseradish. Topped with walnuts, herbs, caraway and nigella seeds
2. Millet tabbouleh, a salad with fresh herbs, lemony dressing and sumac.
3. Malfouf golubtsi: cabbage rolls stuffed with spiced lentils and rice, topped with tomato sauce. Served with dill labneh and stir fried vegetables on the side.
4. Blini atayef with ashta cream, topped with pistachio and rose petals.
