What a wonderful day of flying! 😃 Our friends, Richard and Kathy @intothesky_com flew up from Fullerton to join us in a flight to Livermore for lunch. Turns out weather was a little below minimums for VFR into Livermore. What to do? Divert to The Nut Tree! We had a good time flying up there doing some formation flying taking pictures and video. Air was very smooth, did not have a single bump until we got to The Nut tree in Vacaville, then had a very Bumpy approach! 😬 Wind was heavy, but right down the runway. So not a problem. We met up with an artist who is also a Mooney man that painted an absolutely gorgeous picture of Richard's Mooney over Pogoso Springs, Colorado. Then, we had lunch at The Nut Tree Plaza, which used to be part of the airport. I was so happy to see that they still have the train and the marry-go-round from back in the 60s. My dad used to fly up here all the time before I was born. I can't say enough how much fun GA aviation is! 😀 #yblockguy #hanfordautosupply #piperarrow #iloveflying #avlife @thenuttree

Piñatas should be mandatory in instrument training. Change my mind. 🤪

You know a pilot who needs to see this. 💀
Instrument rated. Piñata undefeated. 🌵
Legally allowed to fly in zero visibility. Cannot find a cactus. 💀

I gave the internet control of our flight route and this is what happened….

5 stops.
15+ airplanes.
Catalina, Golden Gate, Tahoe, Big Bear all in one big Californian loop.

This started as some random polls on my social media and
You guys turned it into something way bigger.

I’m so thankful to everyone who came out and supported our little flying community that we are building!

Big thanks to:
@aircraftspruce
@hartzellprop (Outlaw prop doing its thing all trip)
@boldaviator
@westernskyairpark
@methodsevenpilot

For donating swag and sponsoring our trip too!

Next one’s gonna be bigger…

As you all may know, I have been preparing to buy an airplane. Since the Mooney M20 is one that I have been looking at. It has been strongly suggested that I not only sit in one, but fly one.
Our new friend, Richard of @intothesky_com and his wife Kathy were gracious enough to bring his 1965 M20D to Woodlake for lunch today and let me try it on for size. We had lunch and celebrated Valentine's Day as two couples. The general consensus is that not only do I fit in this airplane but I really like flying it. And my Kathy likes it too! It's on the short list of candidates for my next aircraft. 😃👍 #yblockguy #avlife #mooneym20 #iloveflying✈️ #privatepilotlife

Wolf Creek doesn't have much snow so we grabbed our gear and flew to Idaho Falls to see our son and daughter in law and went skiing at Grand Targhee.

Shoutout to @intothesky_com Ilfor taking our OG cookie, Chunk Norris, on its first flight! Rumor has it, it didn’t even need a seatbelt—just pure grit and chocolate chips holding it together. Whether dodging turbulence or roundhouse-kicking taste buds into bliss, Chunk Norris is always mission-ready. Thanks for giving it some sky-high adventure! ✈️🍪 #ChunkNorris #CookiesTakeFlight #IntoTheSky
