Mental Health Monday 🧠🤍 I’ve been using this simple psychology trick since I was about 16 years old. One day, my mom came home from a college psychology class and told me about something she had learned: If you force yourself to smile really big—even putting a pen between your teeth to create the shape of a smile—it can help encourage your brain to release some of the same chemicals associated with happiness. So I tried it. And I’ve been doing it ever since. Doing dishes? Folding laundry? Cleaning the house? Working on my computer? There’s a good chance you’ll catch me sitting there with a giant goofy grin on my face. Is it a magic solution? No. And sometimes a small shift can make a bigger difference than we expect. Mental health has been close to my heart for a long time. I’ve been talking about it online since I was a teenager, and it’s inspired everything from my music and poetry to community events, conversations, and wellness practices. That’s why I’m starting Mental Health Monday. Every Monday, I’ll be sharing tools, stories, resources, reflections, and practices that have helped me navigate life’s challenges and support my mental and emotional wellbeing. My hope is that something I share helps someone feel a little less alone, a little more empowered, or gives them a tool they can add to their own toolkit. Have you ever tried this one?

I’ve spent years moving between worlds. Culture. Community building. Music. Poetry. Film. Comedy. Dance. Visual arts. Events. Marketing. Health. Wellness. Psychology. Technology. Entrepreneurship. From the outside, those things can look unrelated. I’ve never experienced them that way. I’ve always been interested in what happens when people come together around a shared vision and create something larger than any one person could build alone. About 11 years ago, that vision got a name. The Box Collective. Not a single company. An ecosystem. A living network of artists, entrepreneurs, festivals, conferences, venues, nonprofits, wellness practitioners, community leaders, and organizations working toward a more collaborative, sustainable, and regenerative future. For a long time, much of that vision lived in notebooks, conversations, strategy documents, voice notes, events, experiments, partnerships, and projects that appeared separate from one another. More and more of those pieces are starting to connect. 🧩🤩 So I’m opening the curtain and sharing more of the process. The successes. The lessons. The ideas. The people. The projects. There’s a lot more to come. If you’re interested in culture, creativity, community, wellness, entrepreneurship, or building things that matter, I’d love to have you here. Follow along, this is going to be fun! Tell me where you’re tuning in from and what you’re dreaming of building. ✨ #TheBoxCollective #MichelleInFlow #CommunityBuilding #CreativeEntrepreneur #CreativeLeadership CultureShift RegenerativeBusiness ConsciousBusiness SocialImpact ArtsAndCulture CreativeCommunity PurposeDriven PuertoVallarta AustinTexas BuildingInPublic

Después de todo lo que pasó aquí en Puerto Vallarta el domingo y el lunes, mi sistema nervioso estaba frito. After everything that happened here in Puerto Vallarta on Sunday and Monday, my nervous system was fried. If your nervous system feels fried… try moving through it. 💃🏻 Lxs amo!! 🤍 ***************** I know the world feels like it’s on fire everywhere, so here’s something that has helped me for years: Cry until you can’t anymore… then jump (and dance). 👀 Benefits of jumping: • Releases adrenaline and helps complete the stress cycle after fight or flight. • Rhythmic movement regulates the nervous system and signals safety to the brain. • Stimulates the vagus nerve and lymphatic system, supporting emotional regulation and energy flow. • Twisting the torso wrings out fascia, where tension and memory are stored. • Letting sound come out while you move helps your body process what words cannot. If your nervous system feels fried… try moving through it. 💃🏻 I love you!! #puertovallarta #vallarta #méxico #nervoussystemsupport #sistemanervioso
