It’s not enough to talk about it, you’ve got to actually be about it.

Supporting local is so important, and now more than ever. Choose local artists, local coffee, local farms, local makers.

We feel so lucky to call Youngstown home and to have the opportunity to work with so many of these businesses and creators.

☕️❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU! ❤️☕️

We want to give a special shoutout to Matt Campbell and Invoke Coffee Equipment for their incredible generosity and for inviting us to be part of their First Annual Coffee Art Competition! ☕️🎨

We had such a great time! It was an amazing evening filled with creativity, community, and, of course, plenty of coffee.

Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful for the generous donation made to Animal Charity of Ohio from the evening. Your support helps us continue caring for animals in our community. 🐾❤️

Thank you, Matt and the entire Invoke Coffee Equipment team, for thinking of us and helping make a difference!

☕️🐾 We appreciate you more than you know!

I’ve always wanted a #tintype made. The stars finally aligned at the @invokecoffeetech opening event. @sethbasistatintypes is keeping this old timey method alive. That’s important. It was great to hear Seth talk about the process and the community of folks doing this kinda work. Such a great experience. The baristas at @branchstreetcoffee couldn’t have been nicer when I picked it up today.

Super fun mural I did for @invokecoffeetech (og design by @johncraigdesign ) on the side of the Invoke building. AND as an extra special treat I left the image unedited bc I realized some sad souls will never get to experience the stunning gray skies of a Youngstown summer day :(

Last week @invokecoffeetech hosted an official and in-depth two day @slayerespresso training for technicians, followed by an after party with a latte art throw down, flash tattoos, and unique tintype photography!

Many Service Layer technicians were able to join in the event, and Mauricio at @projectmambo.usa even won first place in the latte art competition.

Juny had some questions for Matt @invokecoffeetech !
☕️

Q: What was the moment you realized, “Okay, this isn’t just a business idea anymore; this is really happening”?

A: “The reality set in when we finally signed the lease. Now it was literally make it or break it. Thankfully we had a well rehearsed business plan, and a clear and focused vision.”

☕️

Q: What’s something people assume about owning a business that is completely wrong?

A: “The overnight success is a lie. If you are successful, there are often years of sweat equity, trial and error, and countless unplanned work hours put in to make it work. People see your success and think, “That looks easy, anyone can do it,” but there is a lot of work that no one will ever notice.”

☕️

Q: If you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice on Day One, what would it be?

A: “Consult with a pro. We wasted so much time and money buying equipment we thought was right for us, only to find out that we really needed something different. Over years, we got our setup fine tuned and exactly what we wanted, but a local equipment tech (which didn’t exist in our day) would have given us all the shortcuts.”

Matt and Ally, thank you sincerely for your time today.
A pleasure indeed!
