Last week I completed a very special milestone on my path as a psychotherapist. I am officially certified in Level 1 - Internal Family Systems.

Words cannot describe all that these 14 days have meant to me. A huge personal growth, a discovery of the different parts of me, a collective sharing that had a unique and very special impact. Feeling that we are being witnessed and witnessing the experience of others is something very powerful, transformative and opens up countless possibilities for inner evolution.
Internal Family Systems is a humanistic, mindful and experiential approach, which assumes that each of us brings with us a multiplicity of parts, in a dynamic and complex system, in which they relate and co-habit. It offers a hopeful path to authenticity and to finding an inner energy (Self) that leads us in a natural and compassionate way.
Many thanks to all those who have accompanied me on this very special journey. ❤️

Lugares sagrados e muitas vezes ainda intocados.Nem sei como agradecer! Experiência inesquecível.

Seeing this photo made me smile. Wryly.

This was year 7 of the RTW trip and Birgit and I were in Western Canada. You can’t tell at first glace from the photo but this glorious September day was punishingly cold.

All layers on kind of weather. Birgit doesn’t look too happy does she.

About 2 months later we discovered that heated waistcoats existed! This story and so many more are in ‘Tortillas to Totems’.There’s a stroke of luck and kindness story about this discovery in there!

When we’d set off on the trip we were novices and spent most of the years in the right places at the right time weather wise. We’d met so few other motorcycle overlanders too. Those we did, well, the conversation about heated gear never came up.

One modification I’d never travel without now is heated grips!

Year two of what turned into an eight year journey around the world. These battered panniers started off life in the garden shed of an 80 year old Australian millionaire. That’s where they were made. Designed on the back of a cigarette packet - really. That is the road.
