16.07.2026 🇦🇲 🇲🇰 🌎 🎯 We are happy to announce that Sona Harutyunyan (M.A.), Founding President of KulturDialog Armenien. Founder of International Print Biennale Yerevan and Director of the “«ՀայԱրտ» Կենտրոն / “HayArt” Centre, has been invited to join the jury of the OSTEN Biennial Skopje of Contemporary Visual Arts – Skopje 2026 (Skopje, North Macedonia).

On behalf of the organizing committee and curator Kornelija Koneska, the invitation recognizes her “renowned expertise, discerning eye, and commitment to contemporary artistic practices” - qualities regarded as an invaluable contribution to this critical selection process.

It is with this spirit that the Biennial entrusts its vision to voices capable of shaping meaningful international artistic dialogue.

A space where tradition meets disruption, the OSTEN BIENNIAL stands as an established international platform dedicated to artistic innovation and global cultural exchange.

Founded in 1945, the institution carries a remarkable legacy of championing artistic freedom and independent thought, supported by a collection of over 15,000 works.

The 2026 edition continues this vision bringing forward works that challenge inherited visual languages, resist conventional artistic matrices, and move beyond established academic frameworks into the open, unbounded field of creative expression.

We are also delighted to note that Sona Harutyunyan’s (M.A.) curatorial and critical vision has been recognized internationally before.

In 2020, Sona Harutyunyan (M.A.) served as a jury member at the 6th Székelyföldi Grafikai Biennálé / Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland (Romania).

Fragments from Rósa Gísladóttir’s exhibition “Reflection of Time”

Passing through the opening door into the next gallery, the scene changes, revealing a series of three-dimensional sculptures titled “Renaissance Nouveau.”

These sculptures are cast from a contemporary, environmentally friendly water-based acrylic resin that resembles elegant natural materials.

Their forms, subtly accentuated by the artist, draw inspiration from vases and ornamental motifs of the Italian Renaissance.

The works are incorporated into still-life compositions that create a powerful visual impression while avoiding a single, definitive interpretation. They are presented alongside a series of large-scale two-dimensional photographs displayed on the curved surrounding walls of the gallery.

The exhibition is open until August 11.

Gísladóttir's thoughtful compositions of various plastic forms bring to mind the Irish philosopher and writer Iris Mudoch and her meditations on story-telling, art and the power of language.

"Art is mimesis", she states, and "storytelling is a tool for knowing who we are and what we want", pointing out the sensuous nature of art concerned with visual and bodily experiences.

it reveals. The impression of the artwork is related to its connection with the reality
