POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’ve been dragging my feet all day posting this because I don’t want it to be real, I’m gutted. Today we lost more than a friend, more than a chef. Tad was family. A brother to us, Uncle Tad to our kids, our right hand man. He traveled everywhere with us. Tad was one of the most thoughtful, kind souls I’ve ever known. He was talented, generous with his gifts, and lifted others up without asking for anything in return. He was the kind of person who made you feel seen and valued just by being who he was. Tad was thoughtful to everyone and in everything he did. He taught me how to make beautiful salads and made incredible chatcuterie boards. I’ll miss his calm, gentle energy in our kitchen, him laughing when I sarcastically/jokingly say that things are faaaaaaantastic! and eating pumpkin everything from Trader Joe’s in the fall.

I’m so grateful Tad got a chance in his last days to see how much he meant to all of us, how many lives he touched, how loved he was. That what he did had an impact and mattered to so many.

Mary Stuyvesant, David Jafri, Missy Reiner-Cameron, Tracy Feldstein, there’s no possible way to thank you enough. You advocated for Tad with medical staff, fought the medical/insurance system, set up hospice in Dave’s home and stayed with him alongside Joni and Myrtle until he peacefully left this world. You are truly exceptional people and because of you he passed safe and surrounded by love and friends, on his own terms.

Thank you to all of you who donated to Tad’s Go Fund Me. You supported and stood by our beloved friend, giving him the ability to fight this horrible disease with dignity and the care he deserved - without worrying about paying the bills. Your generosity flew his family back and forth to support him, eased his burdens and reminded him that he was never alone. You all truly personify what Team Tila is, a community that supports one another. We owe you an enormous debt of gratitude.

Rest easy, Tad, you will live on in our hearts. We’ll see you on the other side.
