Tip of the Week: Cable Rotation Variation - Part 2 🔄⚡️

If you’re a rotational athlete, adding higher velocity rotational movements like this cable rotation can be a great way to develop rotational speed and power.

Whether you’re a fighter, baseball player, or someone looking to enhance overall athleticism, this variation is a great option if improving speed/power is your goal👇

✅ Start with your feet hip width apart or slightly wider
✅ Warm up with a couple sub maximal reps to find your rhythm
✅ Rotate from the ground up, using the hips and lower body to drive the movement
✅ Intent is key - move FAST!
✅ Add a VBT to the cable to measure your output

As a coach, you need to be willing to put the beginner’s hat back on and be humble enough to learn from like-minded people.

Grateful to be surrounded by great people, ideas, knowledge, and experiences that challenge me to grow. Thank you, @traininglab.pt

Today being at the gym, my heart was full.

Thank you Ali for visiting and spending a month with us learning and exchanging ideas. Challenging us to be better and inspiring us with your time and effort, traveling all the way from Bahrain.

Thank you Lin, for giving us your time & expertise, helping our clients feel better with your gentle touch!

&to the boyz,
Isaac. For your energy & fresh ideas. Plus shout out on the socials game.

AP the unc. For your steadiness & vast experience in everything from coaching to beef, to baking.

Justin my right hand man, partner in crime. The person who takes in all my ranting and stress. & still so ferociously gets sh*t done.

&of course, not pictured but our community of hardworking athletes & members who continue to show up even when it's hard and you're tired and you're hurt and the A/C in the gym is broken 🙏 🙏 🙏

We're building something really special @traininglab.pt and it continues to blow me away me how much you can be fulfilled when you always strive to serve others first.

Tip of the Week: Cable Rotation Variation 🔄

Rotational training can sometimes become an afterthought, with little intent being put into these exercises.

Like other movements, building rotational strength and developing the obliques require intent and progressive overload, with the goal of building strength over time.

This cable rotation variation is a great option if strength and hypertrophy are the goal, improving stability and isolating the trunk👇

✅ Start in a wide stance to improve stability
✅ Hinge forward with a FLAT BACK to help keep the hips still throughout the rotation
✅ Keep your arms straight out in front of the chest as you rotate through the trunk
✅ Focus on control and getting stronger over time

This one stings. Yesterday didn’t go my way, but that’s part of this sport. Every time I step into that cage, I’m grateful for the opportunity to put it all on the line and live a life that I truly love. Congrats to my opponent and his team on the victory.

This loss is a learning experience and just another part of the journey. I’ll take it on the chin, keep my head up, learn from it, and keep moving forward. The sun will rise again, and everything will be okay.

I have so much to be grateful for especially my incredible coaches, teammates, family, friends, sponsors, and the entire community behind me. A special thank you to the coaches who made the trip out here to be in my corner and support me, as well as the coaches back home who helped prepare me and were behind me every step of the way. To my friends and family that made the trip I love you all it means the world to me.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages, calls, and words of encouragement. I’ll get back to you all soon, but please know that every message and all the love and support have not gone unnoticed.

I’m blessed with the best support system and surrounding cast I could ask for. Thank you for continuing to believe in me. I promise to keep working, inspiring, and motivating those who support me.

This is only a bump in the road. We keep moving forward. 🙏🏽😎
