Just between us, Team Second Act are a little bleary-eyed today, because last night we celebrated being shortlisted in the Best Entertainment category at the @britishpodcastawards - aka the podcast Oscars!

While we didn’t win gold (well done @jamielaing and @sophiehabboo for their well-deserved victory), we were absolutely delighted to be nominated alongside broadcasting heavyweights like @officiallouistheroux, @kathbum, @zoetheball and @jowhiley.

The conversations @atehjewel has every week with our wonderful celebrity guests touch on so many huge, important topics - from menopause and relationships to confidence, grief, careers and starting all over again - and we’re so proud to be giving a voice to women in midlife who’ve often felt overlooked. What I wore to HELLO!’s first ever Second Act LIVE event. Such a wonderful night… it was a live podcast recording with the one and only Jo Good (aka @middleagedminx) and hosted by the brilliant @atehjewel (and a great opening act by @isabel.mohan). The women who came were all so lovely - Second Act is all about community and it was so amazing to see it IRL … @millie.writes smashed it out of the park. I was responsible for the goodie bags, and they went down a storm! Thank you to any of my PR friends who helped me with those. My outfit: I wore @mintvelvet purchased in the sale last year and I’ve been saving it for a special occasion. The bag and tee is @marksandspencer, sunnies are @ysl, earrings are @maudellalondon

Wonderful day at the News Podcast Awards with the HELLO! podcast team. ✨ So proud that @rightroyalpod was nominated! Huge credit to @millie.writes and everyone who works so hard behind the scenes to bring the podcast to life every week. A special shoutout too to @secondacthello, which was also nominated! We may not have taken home the award this time, but being nominated was such an honour. It was amazing to spend the evening surrounded by so many talented people in the industry.

Latest piece for @hellomag and thanks to @isabel.mohan for the opportunity to write about the mum influencer world of about 10 years ago. Extract below and link in stories and let me tell you I was just as delusional as every other mum on the scene and clearly thought I deserved a million pounds to promote the latest post baby supplement:
The top mum influencers were picky in terms of who they’d speak to at events and if you had fewer followers than them… well, they probably didn’t want to sit next to you or have their photograph taken with you either. It was like being back at school. I was already a bit older than the other women, having had my kids in my forties, and I found the mean girl atmosphere difficult to navigate. I felt frazzled and discombobulated from early motherhood and didn’t feel there was much discussion about that at the time. There was one brilliant website that shared the real experiences of mothers, but when you were out at events, it was hard to penetrate the inner circle and feel accepted.

This week I tried tapping with the amazing @poppydelbridge after seeing how Emily Blunt’s character in Devil Wears Prada used the technique to calm her frazzled nerves. Link in stories and thanks to @isabel.mohan at @hellomag for the opportunity to explore another therapy that might just make this perfect storm of mothering/menopause/incontinent cats a little easier - extract;
Poppy offers me a quick 60 second, ‘beginners tapping’ session to see if it can help me out. I am not working for Dior by the way and I clearly am not about to push my way to the front to get into Balmain’s 2026 Fall fashion show. I do, however, have two kids (one a tween who is putting me through my paces), four cats (one of whom has a very nervous disposition that impacts her bladder) and a messy, disorganised house that I work in every day. My daily routine is usually washing, writing, tidying and putting away, writing, catastrophising, writing - repeat ad infinitum. #devilwearsprada2 #tapping #eft
