PROJECT DETAILS 👇🏽
In honour of #nationalsewingmonth, as declared by President Reagan in 1982, I’d like to present to you my first ever bomber jacket. I used @mccallpatterncompany ‘s pattern M7637, which I followed a see along from @sewitacademy. I had some left over faux suede from my headboard, and thought it was a good starter fabric. It’s stable, and strong, and it’s not real suede so I can remove stitches!!!

I signed up for Sew It Academy in 2019 and just sat on it for months. Not sure if I was scared or intimidated or what, but I kept sewing on my own, but finally decided to just do it. It helped clear up instructions.

The jacket’s sleeves feel really big and the tummy and waistband do too, but the chest works! Also the shoulders are a little wide, but I think I can get along with that. Is it perfect? Sure as hell not, but it’s pretty damn close! Going to cut the pattern for the medium to see how that fits later this month, and adjust the large if necessary, because I’m not a standard size.
