Where to start…

This time of year is always mad, 2025 especially so. BF, Xmas, CX and the prep for Kerste, no time left for da socials…but there’s been a lot happening. So consequently, we have some big new launches inbound, beginning in January. We’ve been keeping the UCI technical boys & girls busy.

Few squad snaps till then. Who’s building sandcastles tommorrow? 🖤💛❤️

Been a while since a Team HUPdate, busy times with SCX rd1, Glentress7, final round of Hope Supercross, Belgium, training rides in the lakes and too much of the inside of an Italian hospital 👀🖤💛❤️

Friday the 13th, unlucky for some, today it’s mostly female cyclists. New @uci_cycling regs for 2026 means a minimum of 40cm bar widths for Road and Cyclocross.

A disaster for smaller riders who would usually be running 34cm, 36cm or 38cm bars to get the correct, proportional fit to maximise their control. Yet the UCI are banning them in the name of safety.

Yes, 26cm or 28cm bars ridden by 6ft+ riders in the peloton was always daft, but one sweeping rule to fix it, is a backward step. Wonder how many women were on that technical panel?

Yes, wheels over 65mm and ‘space balls’ helmets don’t belong in the peloton either, but forcing smaller riders to compromise their bikefit won’t improve safety.

It’s likely brands will start dropping narrow bar production almost immediately as a result. But don’t panic, we’ve been making them since 2016 and we will continue to do so.

Our 38cm bars (both the youth and the adult versions) are fully compliant with the new 2026 regs, as they are 40cm outside, so youth and small adult riders can still enjoy proportional bars with a compact 100mm drop and 65mm reach 💪

Pedal on ladies 💪 Great strides forward have been made by some in an industry that’s ignored the needs of a huge number of female cyclists for decades, hopefully someone will see sense and not pointlessly reverse it 👀
