👉🏼 @ishotbaltimore / @grainline.magazine Larry Cohen is a Baltimore-based photographer and a member of the international Observe Collective. His work is rooted in the rhythm of the street, with a strong focus on Baltimore, its people, its arts community, and the energy that moves through public space.

He prefers natural light and candid street photography, but his background also includes years of shooting off-camera flash in Burner communities across Richmond, DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. That mix gives his work a sharp sense of adaptability. For Larry, street photography is not about controlling a scene, but learning how to read what is already there: light, movement, group dynamics, body language, and the small shifts that can turn into a photograph.

He describes himself as someone who shoots energy and believes in bringing your whole past into the work. Sensitivity, instinct, patience, and the ability to read people all become part of the process. Street photography, for him, is where life and art meet. It is difficult, unpredictable, and rarely generous, but that is also the point. You prepare, adapt, and keep walking, hoping for the few images that last.
