Stop passing so fast. 👀

If the defense knows you’re looking to pass before you even catch the ball, you’ve already made their job easier.

🎯 The goal: Become a scoring threat BEFORE you become a passer.

When you catch the ball, don’t immediately think, “Who can I pass to?”

Think: “Can I score?”

Attack the cage. Shift your defender. Get your hands free. Make them react.

🔥 And that reaction is where things open up...

Once the defense believes you might dodge and score, your next pass becomes more dangerous because defenders have to respect your ability to attack.

Now when you receive the ball again, have a plan.

👀 Where is your defender?
⚡ What side can you attack?
🥍 What dodge fits the space?
🎯 What happens if they overplay you?

The best players aren’t just moving the ball.

They’re constantly making the defense choose what they’re afraid of.

Create the threat first. Then make them pay for reacting to it. 😈

💾 Save this for your next practice and start thinking like a scorer BEFORE you think like a passer.

The hitch isn’t just a dodge. 👀 It’s a setup.

If you’re using a hitch correctly, you’re forcing the defender to make a decision before you ever commit to your next move.

🎯 Why it matters: Great dodgers aren’t always trying to beat their defender with ONE move. They’re creating reactions they can attack.

Here’s where the hitch move becomes dangerous 👇

1️⃣ Get the defender moving
Sell the first action hard enough to make the defender react. If they don’t move, you haven’t sold it.

2️⃣ Read the reaction
Did they open their hips? Drop their hands? Overplay your top side? Start sliding?

That reaction tells you what comes next. 🧠

And this is the part a lot of players miss...

🔥 The hitch creates options.

You can re-attack.
You can change direction.
You can roll.
You can pull the stick through.
You can explode into space.

The goal isn't to memorize five moves.

It’s to develop the ability to create a reaction, recognize it, and attack it. ⚡️

That’s how your dodging, footwork, and stick work start working together instead of existing as separate skills.

Save this one and ask yourself during your next workout:

“What reaction am I trying to create?” 👀
