🤔 Tales of A Volunteer Voter Protection Attorney on 1st Day of Early Voting - Lessons Learned:

🗳️ Check your voter registration status online. Some folks are still walking thinking all things are in order and they are not.

🗳️ Go prepared with your ballot researched and completed otherwise you will be frustrated - just because most people are just paying attention to all these candidates and amendments. It takes some effort. Should not take you more than 5 mins prepared.

🗳️ If you are dropping off your vote by mail ballot, you may need to park, walk up to the front entrance of most early voting locations or you can check for signs with a number to seek assistance from Clerk. Be sure to sign and date the back of your ballot and check on processing in a couple days.

🗳️ You have the right to request assistance when casting your vote. You need to complete an affidavit before anyone will be permitted to accompany you into the voting booth.

🗳️Lastly, during early voting lines are not long for most times. You can check waiting times online for some counties. Also, you have two chances if you mistake on your ballot and request a replacement ballot. Finally, if you have any issues with your registration or challenges to your right to vote, when all else fails you can request a provisional ballot.

To my college students and young rockstars in the feed, you are not paying close enough attention - listening to noise in the back of the class. Come forward.

Get it done. Don’t let others who are better prepared speak for you.

Tensions reached a breaking point in Paris, France, on Saturday, October 17, as weeks of demonstrations culminated in scenes of widespread vandalism, property damage and the reported looting of luxury retail stores near the French capital’s Place de la République.

The movement began with students protesting education budget cuts, staff shortages and deteriorating learning conditions. Over the past several weeks, demonstrations have expanded, drawing support from labor unions and other groups expressing broader concerns over public services, government spending and the rising cost of living.

Footage circulating from Saturday’s demonstrations shows damaged storefronts and extensive vandalism, underscoring the severity of the unrest as public frustration continues to mount.

French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to address the nation tonight at 8 p.m. Paris time.

It’s only been a week since Pierre Damas Bel was laid to rest, and already his name is fading from the news cycle. Please don’t let his story fade with it. 🤍

His family still needs us. Please continue donating to the GoFundMe. The link is in my bio. They are facing unimaginable grief and urgent challenges. No donation is too small. Many hands make the load lighter.

What an honor it was to speak with his teacher, Ms. Blair, and his friend, Danie, about the young man they knew and loved. In just 20 years, his accomplishments, kindness, and dedication embodied the promise of the American dream.

His life ended in tragedy, but his legacy deserves to be about how he lived and the example he set for his peers.

I divided these heartfelt conversations into three parts. Please watch all three, share them, and keep his family in your prayers.

The headlines may move on. Let our love, remembrance, and support remain. 🤍
