It’s been such a busy summer. In just 5 days, we move Ruby into her next chapter. And before we get swept up in the packing, the goodbyes, and all the emotions that come with sending your child out into the world, I had to pause and capture some of what this summer—and this season of life—has meant to me.

This summer has been full of so much more than busy schedules and big moments. It has been a season of watching Ruby grow, stepping a little further into adulthood, and realizing that the “little girl” we’ve spent the last 18 & a half years raising, is becoming the woman I’ve prayed she would be.

There have been moments of excitement, pride, laughter, uncertainty, tears, and a whole lot of “how did we get here so fast?” There have been moments when I wanted to freeze time, and others when I’ve been so excited to see what God has in store for her next.

As her mama, I think I’m learning that this is what letting go looks like. It doesn’t mean we stop worrying. It doesn’t mean we stop praying. It doesn’t mean we stop being her safe place. It just means we continye trusting God with the parts of her story that we can’t hold in our hands.

Five days… And while my mama heart is a bit broken over how quickly these almost 19 years have gone, it is also incredibly full.

So, before we turn the page, I just needed to remember this chapter.
Because what a beautiful chapter it has been. 🤍

Will you join us in praying for her and every one in her village- her friends- the parents of her friends who are also starting new chapters- for the people they are going to encounter-
