Catch me tonight at @eprjcts for @itch.gathering 🌱🌿🍏🍅🍊🍓 I will be testing out my performance ‘consumption as a generative act’ Come along, eat fruit, nurture the seed, water the soul Logo design by @ellismilesdesigner Photo by @hellocatfood [Image Description: Promotional flyer for itch. A grey/beige text on brown background with pencil-line scribble marks and a photo of Samiir on stage at Supernormal Festival in 2022. In the photo, Samiir performs whilst staring directly into the camera. Samiir uses both hands to lean in and grasp a microphone on a mic stand whilst the word "LIBERATION" in colourful glitchy text on a white background is projected across Samiir's body. Flyer text reads: “itch. Samiir Saunders Samiir Saunders is a multimedia poet from Birmingham. Samiir's work blends spoken word, sound art, alternative hip- hop, and performance art. Samiir explores themes of intimacy, technology, glitches, healing, and memory.”]

🛒 tomorrow evening's performance @itch.gathering @eprjcts WILL NOT feature a beautiful and glorious and highly practical shopping trolley like this one.... ....but, if this thing that's sprouting tomorrow for the first time has another outing in the future, I'd love to have something like this Huge thanks to the lovely gentleman who didn't mind me pausing him briefly and taking a quick vid 🙏

Besides myself about tomorrow evening's @itch.gathering @eprjcts. It's been such a joy to be part of the programme and can't wait to share a little downbeat piece. The sudden heatwave definitely works well with what I'll be sharing: [untitled lament]. #solastalgia #untitledlament

This year, I decided to dedicate most of my time to a sort of 'practise as research' developmental period- through workshops, residencies and R&D's for my movement, dance and performance practise. And now, I've been blessed enough to continue to grow the skills I nurtured as part of @fiercefestival steering group last year- by conceptualising and curating my own performance scratch event. I hope for this to be for the growing performance arts community in the Midlands, but also for my own research and growth (it's all about the energy exchange) Thank you @fiercefestival for your continued support and cheerleading, @island._t for being a badass producer and all the artists involved and those I've connected with and shared/ received knowledge from. Catch me hosting the first @itch.gathering this Thursday, bringing you sum sweet n sultry vibes 🔮✨️ 📷 @tv_trev
