I spoke with a few marketing students at @jcsuniversity about my career path and what it was like building a business and community I love. Because what is the point of all of this if you cant lift as you climb?

Thank you @its_profbrown for having me! It was a pleasure.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending & facilitating an intentional networking activity at @carolinawomenintech Women+ in Confidence Summit 💜

This event brought together women around central themes of confidence, career growth, education, and equality for women+.

This year was focused on AI and innovation and how they can either accelerate equity or unintentionally reinforce bias.

From hiring and promotions to pay transparency and workplace culture, AI is already shaping decisions that impact opportunity.

When we understand how these tools work and how to influence them, we build the confidence to advocate for ourselves, ask better questions, and lead with impact.

We truly put our HEART & SOLE into last night. ♥️

Thank you to everyone who came out and showed out! Your energy filled the room and made the evening unforgettable.

A very special thank you to our Alumna Soror Shakoya Brown for sharing meaningful information in honor of Heart Health Awareness Month. Your transparency in sharing your personal experience with a stroke, educating us on the warning signs, and emphasizing the importance of spreading awareness was truly powerful. ♥️

Another special thank you to our Alumna Ashley Porter for leading an amazing workout session that kept our bodies active and moving with the cement bricks ! 💪🏽 The energy was high, the movement was intentional, and we felt the burn while prioritizing our heart health.

Last night was all about education, empowerment, and movement, and we are so grateful you all were a part of it.♥️

April 12, 2022❤️‍🩹 I was fighting for my life. I couldn’t breathe. Had terrible chest pains for DAYS. Heart rate kept dropping below 40bpm. I went to the ER and was admitted for two weeks due to my heart not pumping enough blood to my top chamber of my heart. My heart rate went from 40bpm to 20bpm then to 18bpm. I knew then I was gonna die in that hospital. I found out I had sinus bradycardia and 3rd degree AV block. Acute pericarditis… BUT GOD….. I was released once my heart rate started back being in normal rate. I went back to GO mode.

June 16th, 2022 I was at work and collapsed. No pulse for 40seconds, eyes to the back of my head woke up to people standing over top of me. I knew then my life was gonna end completely… BUT the God I serve never failed me🥺 I had to wear a heart monitor to be observed and days later I got a call in the middle of the night to report to the hospital because I was getting admitted.

June 24, 2022 I was admitted to the hospital and kept all the way until my surgery.

June 27, 2022 I had a pacemaker placed in me and it’s been 3 STRONG years going on 4! There’s day where I wanted to give up and felt so out of place in life BUT GOD. He kept me, molded me, guided me. I should’ve been DEAD COMPLETELY on April 12th, 2022. BUT GOD.

This day is so special to me and everyone who are survivors whether it’s for cardiac, stroke etc. Over 100s of women and men have fought and survived a traumatic experience in their lives with this. I’ve accomplished so much in my 3 years with my pacemaker. I’m walking fully in my purpose unashamed, authentically being ME a true survivor. It doesn’t matter how hard it gets, it doesn’t matter what it may look like, it doesn’t matter what the doctors say YOU WILL WIN AND YOU ARE NOT DEFEATED. So tell your loved one today that’s fighting a battle that you love them and cherish their presence. Tell someone who is also a fellow survivor that you love them and you’re so glad they’re alive and present with you. 🫡✊🏽❤️‍🩹🤞🏽
