🏆 VALLEY VIEW 🏆
🏆 BEST ACTRESS LAURA IM 🏆

LAURA IM just snatched the BEST ACTRESS Skull Trophy at Screamfest.

The only thing more unhinged than her performance is the fact that she somehow made a motel hideout look more stressful than checking into one with no WiFi and a psychopath next door.

CONGRATS QUEEN - you earned that Skull Trophy and the right to never hear “the heist was easy” ever again.

The hideout was hell. The award and recognition is heaven.

Congratulations to the whole team:

🏆 BEST ACTOR Javier Botet 🏆

Gummy Best Actor Javier Botet at Screamfest screamfestla

Congrats to Javier Botet and the whole Gummy team.

The man glued half his face to a giant gummy bear and still walked away with Best Actor. That’s commitment.

Absolute chaos, blood everywhere, dark humor for days, and proof that Spanish horror still knows how to ruin your snacks and your sleep.

Well deserved!

This is Gummy’s second win after taking Best Feature in the Órbita section at Sitges.

Two awards, one gummy bear, zero chill.

¡Enhorabuena a Javier y a todo el equipo de Gummy por este segundo premio!

🏆 NINE won BEST EDITING 🏆

NINE @nine.lefilm - Winner Best Editing at Screamfest goes to Jeanne Signé & Edouard Alvado.

Nine is an intimate, universal psychological thriller about the courage to fully exist. It’s unbelievable this psychological thriller was made for roughly €50k / $58k.

Jeanne Signé & Edouard Alvado proved you don’t need a large budget when the editing is this good and the money basically clocked out.

They turned pocket change into a film that is cinematic, looks and feels way above its price tag.

The editing and acting are so sharp you stop thinking about the Dollar Tree budget.

Bravo à Jeanne Signé et Edouard Alvado - vous avez fait d’un budget de poche quelque chose de riche et de terrifiant.

Massive congrats to:

RINRADA THE INFLUENCER won BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS at Screamfest screamfestla

…and honestly the internet had it coming!

Virtual production so sharp the ghost looks better lit than half the influencers still alive. Bangkok never stood a chance.

Congratulations to the whole team - the effects didn’t just haunt the screen, they haunted the awards table.

Well deserved. Now go terrorize the algorithm.

NERVOUS @nervousmovie - Even silence has something to say…and at Screamfest screamfestla it said “BEST MUSICAL SCORE”

Los Angeles Fashion Week is back October 16 & 17 at The Lot Studios, a historic working studio lot minutes from the Sunset Strip.

POV: the future of fashion is on the West Coast. 🖤 Or at least we’d like to think it is.

It’s two full days of models walking a straight line in clothes that would get them removed from Target… and somehow that’s the point.

Also the exact moment you realize you’re underdressed.

Five runway shows. 40+ designers chosen for the strength of their vision and the standout clothes they create.

Pia Bolte, Kazuma Sugawara, House of Musa, Justin Zachary, and a whole lineup of designers who understood the assignment.

Over the two days there will be over 12,000 people attending and millions more watching online.

As Brady King, Co-Founder & Producer, put it: New York gives fashion its calendar, Los Angeles gives it its audience. Nowhere is the runway more watched.

Tickets on sale now — GA, Reserved, or Front Row VIP.

thebureaufashionweek.com

Attend this or spend the weekend telling people you’re “more of a street style person anyway.”

Someone passing, is never a good feeling. These kinds of posts don’t always make us feel better & with so many people passing lately, ORM has been more selective about sharing them.

Still, we couldn’t hold back on RJ Mitte. Because of our own personal feelings, it was difficult & took us quite a bit of time to write what we wanted to share. This is a very worthwhile read, so please stay to the end.

RJ was someone I really admired. Even though I never met him, his advocacy meant a lot to me. He lived with cerebral palsy & brought that experience to his role on Breaking Bad, but what stood out more was how he used his platform afterward.

In media he pushed for better representation & employment for disabled performers - for actors with disabilities to be considered for all roles, not just disability-specific or stereotypical portrayals.

His work continues through SAG-AFTRA’s Performers with Disabilities Committee. He stressed "disabilities aren’t liabilities".

Beyond the industry he was an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy & worked with Shriners on anti-bullying through the #CutTheBull campaign.

Having multiple disabilities myself, I advocate for minor changes that go beyond basic ADA compliance, because living with a disability requires so much extra time and work, that even a small adjustment can make a real difference.

That’s part of why Off Record Mic exists-to push for those changes and to share practical information & disabled event details so people can plan ahead.

It’s devastating to learn that RJ died by suicide. It’s incredibly sad that he couldn’t find the help he needed.

One of the best ways you can help someone is to be present & check in. If you notice someone needs help, call / text 988. We’re fortunate to live in the USA & have so many resources available.

Even though I never met him, I hope to carry on the kind of work he did-using my voice to push for better representation, more opportunities & less stigma for disabled people.

This work needs to continue. RIP RJ 🙏

GUMMY - tonight at Screamfest @screamfestla the sweetest nightmare just hit Hollywood.

Mauro thought he was clocking in for another easy night of serial-killer overtime.

Roadside bar, cute girl, zero red flags… or so he thought.

Then Amaranta walks in and the script flips so hard it needs a chiropractor.

Turns out the “easy target” has a side that makes his whole career look like a hobby.

Mario, the hunter becomes the hunted. Victim and executioner swap places.

Somewhere in the middle of this bloody role-reversal chaos, gummy bears somehow got involved.

Who’s getting the last bite? 🧸🩸Don’t ask. Or do. You’ll regret it either way!

Director Javi Prada makes a fearless feature debut, turning a simple hunter-prey setup into something savage and unpredictable. No safety net, just pure genre nerve.

Well done on your directorial debut, Javi - you made it stick like a gummy on a hot day.

The cast delivers big time. Javier Botet is exactly as unhinged and magnetic as you’d expect.

Clara Alvarado completely owns the flip - she goes from “easy target” to the one running the game with total conviction.

Jan Cornet keeps the tension tight and the tone sharp the whole way.

¡Enhorabuena, Javi! ¡Así se hace!

KICK ON @kickonmovie is premiering at Screamfest @screamfestla tonight Oct 13 and mate, the party is about to get extremely Australian!

Four mates get bounced from the club and decide to "KICK ON" - Aussie for “the night’s not over, babe”.

They scoring drugs from paranoid, cocaine-dusted son of a Russian crime boss. Yeah, already sounding like a deadly combo! I take a popcorn and soda with my combo.

One of them gets sticky fingers for a sister’s medical bills, and the afterparty instantly turns into a locked-in, ultra-violent siege bloodbath.

Classic “we just needed one more line, no, let make it one more bag” energy.

Nick Kozakis directs it like he has a personal grudge against drywall and intact faces.

Markella Kavenagh keeps it grounded while Nikolai Nikolaeff is fully unhinged and sweating through the walls. Maybe it's time for rehab?

This film already caused problems at TIFF Midnight Madness, Fantastic Fest, Beyond Fest, and Sitges.

Now it’s Hollywood’s turn to get wrecked.

If you like your afterparties with a body count and zero survivors - and peep's who look as good as they did walking in, this one’s for you!
