Setting boundaries does not always bring you closer.
Sometimes it brings clarity.
In this week’s episode of Empowered and Unapologetic, we talk about the part no one warns you about. When you stop over giving, some relationships get uncomfortable. Some get distant. Some fall away.
That does not mean you are doing it wrong.
It often means the relationship was built on your people pleasing, not mutual respect.
Boundaries do not ruin healthy relationships.
They expose unhealthy ones.
If a connection only works when you are silent, flexible, or emotionally exhausted, that is not intimacy. That is survival.
If this hit close to home, this episode is for you.

When the brain senses threat—physical, emotional, or social—it often defaults to mental overdrive in an attempt to regain safety.
This is your prefrontal cortex trying to solve a problem that isn’t always logical… while your nervous system is saying, “I don’t feel safe.”

The truth? Overthinking rarely creates control.
But calming the body can restore clarity.
This is why we start with the nervous system, not the mind.

Burnout is common in high-achievers.

For people that feel like they’re all is never good enough. For those that are always aiming higher.

Do you know or have any awareness of what is good enough? Are you aware when it is time to step down, to stop, to reach the contentment that you have worked hard and that is good enough?

Do you feel like you’re never enough, like you strive so hard but it’s never seen, never acknowledged?

If this is you then maybe it’s time to explore why?

Where these self beliefs came from, or maybe it’s time to learn to live differently, to know when you are at your true threshold and when to step down and rest in that? Being able to affirm yourself in that moment that you are good enough?💚
