We went through a time in interior design when grey was the trendy colour. We saw it everywhere and we still see it everywhere. Here’s the thing about Grey though choosing the right Grey is a skill because most of the time I see the use of Grey in a home being used in way that makes the space feel a bit sad because Grey as a colour has psychological trigger such as detachment, isolation, it is associated with gloomy weather, storms, and creating a cold or lifeless mood.Studies have shown that it can if it is the dominate colour in the space that it can can lower productivity and worsen symptoms of anxiety or depression.

Now if you are a fan or grey or your home is currently Grey dominant don’t panic here are some tips on how to liven up your space in simple and effective ways. See the tips in the following slides and let me know if you will be implementing of them.

If Grey is your colour of choice and you need help in selecting the right shades of grey or making your existing choices work book a consult with me. I offer both in person and online consultations to help you with your design needs.

I’ve noticed how people always gather in the kitchen.

Leaning on the counter. Perched on stools. Drink in hand, somehow always in the way of whoever’s actually cooking. You can set up the coziest living room in the world and people will still drift toward the room with a stove in it.

Long before living rooms existed, there was the hearth. Our modern kitchens just inherited that job. It has become the heart of the home, the one room with a reason to linger and something to do together while you talk.

So why don’t we design them that way? A kitchen doesn’t have to choose between working well and feeling like somewhere you want to be.

Creating kitchens that do both is what I am all about. A space that is functional and designed for how you cook and desire to use the space as well as a space that allows people to gather in because they’re going to gather there either way.

Holy Basil also known as Tulsi has to been in my top ten favourite herbs. It is herb that is revered and has numerous medicinal benefits.

Holy basil is an anti-inflammatory, adaptogenic, has been used to ease respiratory infections and skin irritations as well known to lower blood pressure.

I love using Holy Basil in an infusion like a tea, in salves and tinctures💚

Seedless everything. Coincidence? We don’t think so. 😳( yes we said it )

We’ve noticed more and more produce in stores losing its seeds literally. So we’re doing the opposite by letting select crops go fully to seed on purpose.

Why? Because every seed we save is a seed we can:
🌱Replant next season
🌱 Store in our seed bank
🌱 Swap with fellow growers
🌱 Gift to someone just starting out

Saving seeds isn’t just a gardening habit, it’s a quiet act of resistance and resilience.
What are you letting go to seed this year?

When people think of interior design, they often picture mood boards, colour palettes, and furniture selections.

While those are certainly part of the process, they’re not where I begin.

For me, every project starts with understanding the people behind the home. Their rhythms, values, aspirations, and the feeling they want to experience every time they walk through the door.

I believe our homes have the power to support our wellbeing, deepen our connection to nature, and become quiet partners in the lives we’re creating.

Homes that feel like a warm embrace.
Homes that inspire connection, creativity, and rest.
The backdrop to the dream life you are creating.
I would love to know...

🏡What does home feel like to you?

It’s not always obvious. Your home can be clutter-free, organised, functional, and beautifully styled yet it still doesn’t feel calm. You may find it difficult to fully unwind or regulate in the space.

Sometimes it’s subtle. You might avoid certain rooms or spend less time in them without really knowing why. Even when everything looks “right,” your body may be telling a different story.

Here is how we create homes that support your nervous system

🤍Light: Encouraging use of the natural light to support your circadian rhythms for the daytime and focusing on use of lamps, soft light sources, swapping out bulbs for evening.

🤍Sound: The space may just need softer furnishings to absorb sound and also include other items that provide natural calming sounds.

🤍Touch: The power of touch is a subtle but powerful way to aid in regulation and this can be done through the textures in your home.

🤍Scent : Did you know that the sense of smell speaks directly to the limbic system? Therefore we love adding aromatic signals throughout focusing on using clean products of course instead of artificial scents that are harmful for you.

🤍Flow : Which is all about the layout of your space really. How the space flows and functions will affect how you physically feel in that space and it will either make daily tasks more easful or draining. We focus on creating spaces that allow for ease and flow effortlessly. Spaces designed for your lifestyle now and even future goals and how you use a space daily.

🤍Emotional anchors: This is why we don’t like using generic trendy decor pieces brought from large retailers. We may buy one of those pieces here and there if applicable but what we really love doing is using already valued treasures, thrifting and supporting local businesses. We really spend the time getting to know our clients so that we include emotional anchors in their home, these are items that bring good memories, reflect their personality, desires.Things that bring them inspiration, joy and a feeling of calm.

How much time do we spend in our garden each week?

It’s a common question, and the truth is that it really depends on the season and what stage the garden is in. Some weeks we’re simply maintaining, checking on plants, doing a bit of cleaning or clearing, and keeping everything watered. Other times, we’re creating new beds, sowing seeds, or taking on bigger projects that naturally require more hours.
Being in the garden every day has become part of our lifestyle.

Even a quick walk-through usually turns into small acts of care, tending to something that catches our eye. These daily tasks have become a natural rhythm to us as we spend time in it, while the larger jobs are more intentional and planned out ahead of time.

📷: a few images I took this morning during my morning walk in the garden with a cup of tea in my hand and my ducks following behind me 🦆 next time I will get them in too.

Kitchen renovations are easily one of my favorite projects, especially when I get to solve a tricky layout challenge. This client came to me feeling overwhelmed by the space and stuck in decision fatigue. Together, we refined her vision and created a layout that made room for everything she wanted without compromising flow or functionality.

I love creating renders to turn ideas into detailed plans, but sometimes I like to go beyond the screen. When I sense a client still can’t quite feel the space, I’ll tape out the floor plan and walk them through it in real time. It’s the best way to bring the design to life before the work even begins, and that’s exactly what we did here.

Walls have now come down, finishes are ordered, and they’re officially knee-deep in the renovation. Stay tuned for progress updates and the final reveal!
