Housekeeping first: I’m still banned from the #VSUAlumniFashionShow. Belvedere is still horrible — never again. 😂 And Petersburg… we’re good. Growth. Look at God. 🙌🏾

Shoutout to #Krewe, #Rhude and Cookie B. 🧡

Now… talk me through it.

My baby is TEN. 🥹
The Grim Reaper is a funky ho.
And apparently grief gets worse before it gets better… which feels disrespectful, but okay.
I’m learning you have GOT to find your tribe — the people who can sit in the hard stuff with you and still remind you that life is worth living.

Also… somebody check on Stevie Wonder and Sade. I’m serious. 😭😂

We got some things to discuss.

“You don’t give yourself enough credit.”

It’s something I hear often and usually blow off as I move on to the next project. I am a creator, and there are so many ideas I’d like to bring to life.

But the event in these photos—the Black Women of the Future Dinner & Award Show—is special because I had to play so many parts.

And the scariest of them was hosting.

Next was leading the event and knowing that if something went wrong, I’d have to manage it while also managing my anxiety and trying not to be too awkward. 😅

But one thing that comforted me was knowing I hadn’t chosen random women for this event. I was intentional about who was in that room, and I knew that if push came to shove, they’d help however they could.

I was very intentional about this event—from the women we honored to the experience I wanted to create.

And for that, and for seeing it through to completion, I will give myself credit. 💚 📸 @sincerelyb_b

Last night, SheisSincerelyB Creatives Media had the privilege of covering the 16th Anniversary event for SwagHer Magazine. The celebration took place at The Vibe Restaurant and Lounge in Downtown Silver Spring, where the focus was on the incredible Black Women of the Future. This event shone a spotlight on remarkable women making strides in media, wellness, technology, and nonprofit leadership.

The evening was a blend of inspiration and entertainment. Guests were treated to a captivating live spoken word performance by Cookie B., whose words resonated deeply with the audience. The laughter continued with a stand-up comedy act by Mia Musa, whose comedic flair brought joy and humor to the event.

The highlight of the evening was unquestionably the recognition of outstanding women making a significant impact in their communities. The SwagHer 2026 Black Women of the Future Honorees were celebrated for their achievements and contributions:

Fatima Oliver from Rooted in Women’s Wellness, Inc., recognized in the Wellness category.

Omi Bell from Black Girl Ventures, honored in the Entrepreneurship and Community Capital category.

Nicole Murphy from Barter Black, acknowledged in the Black Tech category.

Sadija Smiley from S.A.I.L.S. Community, celebrated in the Non-Profit category.

These women are paving the way for future generations, and their dedication and hard work are truly commendable.

The Vibe Restaurant and Lounge provided an exceptional dining experience that was nothing short of a “CHEF’S KISS” 💋. The food selection was a delightful addition to the evening, complementing the celebration perfectly.

For those interested in staying updated on all things related to empowering Black women, make sure to follow SwagHer Magazine. Their commitment to highlighting and supporting Black women in various fields is truly inspiring.

Let’s continue to celebrate and support these phenomenal women as they lead the way into the future!
