i've always been a sensitive person. i remember little things people tell me (that could also be my Virgo moon lol). i get emotional listening to songs i've heard a thousand times, i replay conversations in my head, and sometimes a kind gesture from someone will stay with me for years. did i mention i remember EVERYTHING? 😂

i sob out loud at movies and get ridiculously excited about things other people probably wouldn't think twice about. thunderstorms, for example. i'm obsessed with them. haha. as long as i can remember, i've had a tendency to just FEEL very deeply.

i used to think getting older meant becoming a little less excitable about life, but here i am at 39, back home in south carolina, standing outside in the rain collecting water for my mom's garden and having the time of my life 😂❤️

i know being sensitive can make some things harder, but i wouldn't trade the way i experience the world for anything.

also, “Rain” by SWV will ALWAYS be my jaaaam. shout out to my 80s and 90s babies!

this is Tia. we graduated together in 2004 and i hadn't seen her since. in high school, whenever guys would pick on me for “acting like a girl,” she ALWAYS stood up for me. she was a tough cookie too 😂 nobody played in her face, so having her in my corner meant something. 22 years later, i ran into her at our high school homecoming game. i asked if she remembered any of that and she immediately goes “oh YES! i sure do!” 😂 followed by an “i love you.” here’s to the girls who protected the boys who were different before some of us even understood what made us different. we remember you ❤️ thank you, Tia.
