Stop what you are doing!!!!!!!!

If you are seeing this at home or with your guests, SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!!!

As a stylist who thrives on education, when we see these things in salon it hurts my whole soul. It is very easy to get lost in the sauce and want to do everything we can for our guests. But if you are doing this to your guest, you’re not helping anyone but yourself.

Correct maintenance is one of the main reasons issues may occur with an installation. Remember these very important key practices to maintain a healthy installation!!!!

💜Brushing is KEY!!!! - you MUST brush your hair at the very least 2xs a day; when you wake up and right before bed at the very least!!! Weft extensions must be maintained underneath each row otherwise the hair in between your rows will mat together under that blanket of hair

💜Gently detach - if you wear ktips and or itips YOU MUST keep your bonds detached. Sometimes a stray hair can grab a friend in another bond and can cause a perfect storm. If this is not caught and treated early you can completely damage the installation, thus beginning this perfect storm to a matted install. ASK YOUR STYLIST FOR ADVICE if you are unsure how to do this.

💜Wear a hair wrap, bonnet etc for bed - The main issue is if you’re moving around with your hair laying free all night, this can tangle your installation. If you are not brushing your hair on top of wearing it in a protective style at night YOU ARE DAMAGING YOUR NATURAL HAIR AND YOUR INVESTMENT!!!! Protect that hair!!!! Both natural as well as your extension hair.

💜MOISTURIZE HER!!!!!! - SHE IS THIRSTY!!! Keep in mind, natural hair is moisturized by the oils produced naturally by your body. Seeing as this hair is not physically coming out of your body, it does not receive the nutrients it needs. You MUST hydrate her!!!! EVERY. SINGLE. Day!

These are the basics. Proper at home care and maintenance is soooo important. The more willing you are at taking care of them, the better your experience will be.

Let me know if you have other things you like to do to care for your extensions right there👉
