Six years ago, we started with an idea. Today, we are celebrating FOUR Signal Awards 🏆 Three Gold and One Silver!!!! And tomorrow, October 21st is my birthday. I couldn’t have imagined a more meaningful early birthday present. But what makes this moment so special isn’t necessarily the awards themselves. It’s everything it took to get here. What many people don’t know is that On The Pass almost didn’t survive. More than once. Funding challenges, a dissolution of a business partnership and countless uncertainties that come with building an independent media and creative service business from the ground up. There were moments when walking away would have been the easier decision. But the team and I kept going. Not because we knew it would work, but because we believed, perhaps unreasonably at times that this work mattered. On The Pass has always been a love letter to the culinary and hospitality community. To the chefs, restaurateurs, artisans, visionaries and countless individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others. To the people who understand that hospitality is about so much more than food or restaurants or hotels. It’s about humanity, connection and making people feel something. We believed these stories deserved to be told and the wisdom and experiences of extraordinary people should be accessible not just to those at the top of our industry, but to the next generation building their careers, and to anyone who believes in the transformative power of hospitality. Six years later, that belief hasn’t changed. And today, I’m incredibly proud to share that On The Pass has been recognized at the 2026 Signal Awards with: 🏆 GOLD — Best Video Podcast, Brand Storytelling 🏆 GOLD — Arts, Culture & Lifestyle 🏆 GOLD — Food & Drink 🥈 SILVER — Best Indie Podcast Six years in, we’re still here...still independent, curious and building. And I genuinely believe we’re just getting started. With immense gratitude, Gabriel #SignalAwards #OnThePass #Hospitality #IndependentMedia #Restaurants

Stories rooted in people, place and culture 🇨🇴 In Bogotá, we spent time with Laura Hernández-Espinosa of La Sala de Laura, learning how she creates experiences that invite guests to go deeper — beyond what’s in the glass, into the extraordinary biodiversity, ingredients and stories of Colombia. This is what we love about storytelling at On The Pass Studios: capturing the people behind the experience, the culture that shapes them and the stories that stay with you long after. ✨ An @onthepass.studios Production 🎥 #OnThePass #OnThePassStudios #Bogotá #Colombia

Lately, I’ve heard some version of this more than a few times: “Wait… I didn’t know you worked with brands. I thought you just did the podcast!” @itsonthepass It always makes me smile and laugh a bit. Because to me, the two have never been separate. @onthepass.studios helps brands connect to culture and build community through strategy, storytelling and experiences. And On The Pass has been one of our own proofs of concept and where we get to test and learn. For nearly seven years, the team and I have been building a brand, an audience and a global community across 67 countries. We’ve built relationships with chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers, winemakers and some of the most thoughtful people shaping hospitality today. The podcast is absolutely a love letter to this industry and the people that love it. But it’s also a living case study in what we believe brands should be doing: creating value before asking for attention. Building community before selling to it. Developing a point of view. Showing up consistently and earning trust over time! That makes our work at On The Pass Studios better. When I sit across from a three-Michelin-star chef, a hotelier, a winemaker or the CEO of a hospitality company, those conversations don’t end when the cameras stop rolling. That intelligence comes back into the studio. It informs how we think about culture, how consumers are changing and what hospitality leaders are wrestling with. Also, what people actually care about right now and how we help our partners build brands that matter. We’re not building a media company over here and a creative studio over there. We’re building an ecosystem where media creates intelligence, intelligence makes the work better, the work expands the community, and the community makes the platform stronger. Maybe that’s the part we need to talk about more… Because we don’t just tell brands how to build audiences and communities. We’ve spent nearly seven years building one ourselves! Stories rooted in culture. In place. In a moment in time✨ That’s what we care about at @onthepass.studios. Whether we’re creating for our own On The Pass platform or collaborating with global brands and partners around the world, the approach stays the same: listen deeply, understand the story/objective and bring it to life with intention. Our recent short with Chef Roberto Alcocer of Valle in Oceanside is a reflection of that philosophy — a story shaped not only by the chef, but by the culture, landscape and experiences that inform his cooking. We always think about the audience first. What are we giving them? What can they feel, discover or carry with them? But there’s another question we ask ourselves throughout every project: Will everyone who helped create this be deeply proud of what we made together? That matters to us. Care in the details. Respect for the story. Pride in the final frame. 🎬✨ That’s how we approach storytelling at @onthepass.studios. One team. Different dreams✨ Chef Andrew Wong of London’s two-Michelin-starred A. Wong once told me, “I hate when leaders say one team, one dream.” That stayed with me. Because the best leaders don’t ask everyone to share the same dream. They create an environment where different dreams can grow together. That’s leadership. Seeing the person, not just the position✨ 🎥Watch more conversations on food, culture, hospitality, and the people moving our industry forward. Listen on Apple & Spotify or watch on YouTube.
