Mount Martha — Story time

I actually remember going to this location initially when I moved down to Melbourne, thinking this picturesque setting would complement a live set so well.

It’s recognisable and unique.

I scouted what I thought was the best spot, driving down from Melbourne on a day in March last year, which we then filmed Phyn at a few weeks later.

Fast forward a full year, that episode has come out (late) due to procrastination, and we have filmed multiple episodes since.

Always sick seeing it come to life — keen to keep building.

Episode 1 – Live in Mount Martha

PHYN is a Queensland-raised, Victoria-based progressive psy DJ & producer.

This coastal location delivered the goods during golden hour. We were blessed with this sunset, with the orange glow shining about 45 minutes in.

PHYN takes us on a journey with hypnotic grooves, psychedelic textures, and deep rolling energy.

Thanks to @lukadaviess for his work behind the lens — this doesn’t happen by itself.

Tune in. Episodes dropping every month.

Last week I had the blessing of being at the 2026 Music & Mysticism Retreat taught by @kalyascintilla.merkaba @merkabamusic.official @tribone_akudra & @temple.step.project - out on sacred Wadawarrung country at Sokil Eco Retreat 🙏🏼

Alongside a bunch of incredible producers from around the world, we spent a week in nature, learning next level production techniques, and getting inspired to evolve our sound and personal journeys. Deeply grateful for experiences like this and for the new friendships with aligned souls on the path 🙏🐉

To close it out, we celebrated with a VIP private bush doof where a bunch of us played mini DJ sets. I took the leap and played my first ever set of all original Chakaruna music… massive milestone for me 🐆🔥

I recorded it and it’s going live on YouTube next Sunday 22/2 at 2pm Melbourne time (Saturday night for the North American crew). Link to the YouTube premiere is in my bio, come watch it with us!

Much love
Chakaruna
