I don’t know if I can put into words how incredible this experience was but I will definitely try! The 2026 Walk for BPD (@emotionsmatter) was one of those days where you truly see and appreciate the good around you. It was the most supportive and positive environment and you can tell for a lot of people this is a home. Hence the song choice. There was no judgement. whether you had BPD, a different disorder, or nothing at all, every story, emotion, and experience was valid and shared. I would STRONGLY encourage everyone and anyone who can to come next year! As someone who does not have BPD do not let that be a reason to not come out because this was one of the best days of my life 💜🫶🏻

the bpd walk in nyc was so amazing🗽 @emotionsmatter thank you for hosting such an incredible event to bring the community together🤍 i wouldnt have been here without @itsrainingbpd, who has been such an amazing online friend these past couple years during some of the hardest times of my life, & after getting diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. she truly inspires me & SO many people every single day, so i came to support her & she did an absolutely outstanding job speaking in front of everyone…i was SO moved & so proud🥹 as did everyone else who had the courage to share their stories! i met so many cool & chill people who all understand each other & i truly had such a fun day taking in all of the positivity, love, & support that everyone was sharing/radiating. i cant wait to make memories with these beautiful people in the future💜💜💜

Truthfully so proud to watch Jae speak in front of a community she helped create. I couldn't be prouder of my best friend 🥹 you worked so hard towards this moment, you truly earned it, & slayed it! Yesterday I had the beautiful pleasure of being a part of the 2026 @emotionsmatter BPD awareness walk💜
After being diagnosed in August 2025, BPD advocacy has become one of the biggest goals and passions. I am so glad I was able to be a part of this extremely important (and healing🩷) event. As someone who has been very lonely and had very little community to reach out to, this event brought me to those who feel the same ways i do and allowed me to find a community that I was so desperately searching for.
Also I want to give a huge shoutout to @itsrainingbpd for telling her followers about this because I would not have known about it without her. Meeting and hanging out with her and all the folks after was so fun and made my entire MONTH.
If you or anyone you know struggles with BPD, reach out to them. Tell them you love and care about them. We struggle with emotional permanence, so we often struggle with the fact people love and care about us if they are not actively present. ❤️ donate to Emotions Matter if you can.

What a beautiful and meaningful day spent at the Emotions Matter’s Walk to spread awareness for Borderline Personality Disorder. It was a pleasure to meet with the volunteers, individuals from children to adults associated with BPD, and supporters for this cause! As BPD has an approximate 10% mortality rate, advocacy and awareness is vital for those who are diagnosed and for their loved ones.
As a person living with BPD, I have strived to become more resilient each day and to put faith in both myself and in treatment, as more research shows that BPD is curable and that individuals with the diagnosis can live fulfilling lives despite the symptoms and stigma around the disorder.
It was impactful learning more about the disorder and how to further fight for stigma reduction, support individuals affected by BPD, and promote mental healthcare accessibility. Thank you to all that help support, fundraise, and attend this annual event! Let’s help reduce the stigma together.
