We had the privilege tonight to be joined virtually by Intimacy Director Ashley Laurenson. She has worked with us on several productions, helping us create safer spaces led by conversation and consent.

Intimacy direction makes theatre safer, clearer, and more intentional. It gives actors consent‑based tools, protects emotional wellbeing, and turns vulnerable moments into precise choreography that strengthens the story.

We highly recommend everyone to add intimacy direction to future productions. Thank you, Ashley! #YMMtheatre #ymm @ashcakesquiggle

Did you know that Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again uses pidgin to crank up the humour and make the chaos feel even more real? 🤔 Whenever the characters drop the formal English and slide into pidgin, it’s that perfect “okay, real talk” moment. It was one of the things that cracked everyone up during our first read!

Pidgin itself is a simplified language, a blend of English and local languages with easy grammar and straight‑to‑the‑point phrasing. It grew as a practical way for people who didn’t share a mother tongue to communicate quickly and clearly.

In Nigeria, pidgin is even more important. With hundreds of languages spoken across the country, it works as a common bridge language. 🇳🇬 You hear it everywhere: markets, buses, radio shows, football viewing centres. It’s friendly, direct, and full of cultural rhythm; it's the language people switch to when they want to be understood without fuss.

That’s exactly why it fits so well in Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again! Pidgin makes the political confusion sharper, the jokes funnier, and the characters feel like people you’d actually meet in everyday Nigerian life.

“Abeg, no slack, go grab your tickets today!” 💛

When the Stage Manager gets a little carried away making sure the cast knows about upcoming events and auditions. 💕 (We love it! The IRL equivalent of "like and share" 😆) #YMMtheatre #ymm

I made this dress a few months ago, but let’s just say… I got bored🥱

The fabric deserved a little more, so I gave it a whole new life and transformed the dress into a two-piece! 💃🏾

Would you have kept the dress or made the transformation? 👀👇🏾
