I didn’t win an award this week, but seeing my name on the shortlist for Best Coach and Best Podcast was amazing.

Seeing so many of my colleagues who I’ve known now for so many years is always lush and meeting new people too is soooo good!

I want to give a shout out to everyone who applies for awards from a mindset perspective.

It is courageous to put your hat in the ring.

There are many things that could prevent this:
- believing in yourself enough to submit an application
- prioritising the time to complete it when you’re already stretched
- finding the delicate balance between gratitude, excitement and surrender for whatever will be will be!

It’s a mini personal development programme in itself! You’re all brilliant.

So a shout out to everyone who applied, all the highly commended, winners and to @theeuropean.fertility.society for organising the awards every year.

Thank you for my double shortlist nomination!!

(PS and thank you @bigfatnegative and @themodernfamilylawyer for an excellent dinner before hand which got us in the mood!)

There were some really moving speeches which reminded us why we do this work and I’m so proud to have been in the room x

Our Clinical and Compliance Director, Debbie Evans, had a brilliant start to the year, attending the Fertility 2026 conference in Edinburgh last week. 💡

She kicked off the conference with a talk on the debilitating impact of Adenomyosis, followed by a session on the ground-breaking use of AI in IVF treatment. This led to an intriguing talk from Richard Lea on environmental chemicals and their impact on the future of reproductive health. 🔬

Debbie also heard updates from the @thercn and learnt more about counselling and support improvements being made to support those embarking on donor conception. Nursing updates also included a prize for Éilis Moody, whose inspiring work on educating 16-18 year-olds on fertility care and health particularly stood out. 👏

Two of the most topical updates were also on the ongoing inequalities in treatment access, plans to address the gap, and the implications on counselling services across the UK, as well as an eye-opening lecture by Professor John Aitken on the declining global fertility and our future dependence on assisted reproductive technology (ART).

Debbie’s most memorable session of the week was a final update on holistic care, where she heard from Shaun Greenaway and Ciaran Hannington from @nexysfertility on the challenges of male factor journeys and how there is still a failure at clinic level to get it right for male partners.

It was an honour to hear from some of the most prestigious clinicians and thought-leaders in the industry, as well as younger, up-and-coming clinicians and nurses. The future of reproductive health is being shaped by an incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate community of people, and we look forward to being part of that change. 💜

We’re here! 🙌
EFS at Fertility 2026 | Edinburgh ✨

We’re delighted to be at #Fertility2026 in Edinburgh and very proud to share that the European Fertility Society (EFS) is presenting a poster at this year’s meeting.

It’s great to be here, to connect in person, and to see our work being shared with the international fertility community.

Our poster presents the first global, patient-led survey exploring how progesterone is used and experienced across the reproductive lifespan. It highlights common physical and emotional side effects, as well as important gaps in counselling and patient information — reinforcing the need for more patient-centred fertility care.

At EFS, we are deeply committed to advancing science, education, and patient voices in reproductive medicine, and we’re excited to be part of this important scientific event.
The poster was prepared by Julie Morgan @allaboutinfertility, PhD Researcher, MSc, RGN, APM (PFQ), and Chair of the Education Committee at the European Fertility Society.
📍 If you’re attending Fertility 2026, come and see our poster!

The first working week of the year and it’s already moving fast!

I started 2026 by jumping on a plane and, despite a few airport challenges, made it to Fertility 2026 in Edinburgh. @fertilityconferences

It’s great to be back, reconnecting with colleagues and friends from across the fertility field.

Julie Morgan @allaboutfertility
Andreia Trigo @andreiatrigorn @enhancedfertilityapp
Kaj Rydman @kaj_rydman
Katherine Pleace @fertility_menopause_poi

and many others. Amazing to see you!

What I value most about events like this is the openness of the community — people who genuinely care about improving patient care and sharing knowledge across the IVF and infertility sector.

Whta's more, this year, @theeuropean.fertility.society is presenting a poster at Fertility 2026, which I’m particularly proud of.

The poster shares the results of the first global, patient-led survey exploring how progesterone is used and experienced across the reproductive lifespan. It was prepared by Julie Morgan, PhD Researcher, MSc, RGN, APM(PFQ), Chair of the Education Committee at the European Fertility Society.

A strong start to the year, and an important conversation for the field.

First week of the year, everyone back to work and there’s truly nothing better than being at the @fertilityconferences 2026, reconnecting with colleagues and friends.
I love hearing about their work and research, what they’re passionate about, and I’m always struck by how deeply this clinical community is committed to improving care at every level, from physical and emotional wellbeing to new technologies.

This year, @enhancedfertilityapp presented a poster on our 2025 study of EnhancedDx, our AI platform designed to automate diagnosis and support doctors and nurses when assessing fertility patients.

Why this matters 👇
• The average time to diagnose infertility conditions is ~5 years (and up to 9 years for endometriosis).
• Clinicians work under intense time pressure (often 15-minute GP or gynae appointments).
• Medical knowledge is exploding: for example, PCOS guidelines alone span ~6,000 pages.
• Non-specialists must rapidly synthesise history, blood tests, scans, and semen analysis, often delaying referral and increasing the burden on fertility clinics.

With EnhancedDx, we aim to change this by:
1️⃣ Analysing all EHR data in an interoperable way
2️⃣ Automating diagnoses with ICD coding
3️⃣ Using explainable AI, so clinicians understand why each diagnosis is suggested (no black box!)

The goal is simple but powerful: reduce consultation time, increase consultation quality, more accurate diagnoses, and reduce delays in treatment.

Grateful for the conversations and inspiration this community always brings ✨ Here’s to a great start of 2026 🙌
