🖤 SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH 🖤

We may be halfway through the month, but let this be your reminder: kindness goes a long way.

The harsh reality is that life can sometimes be challenging. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile, their silence, or even their “I’m okay.”

A simple check-in.
A listening ear.
A little patience.
A little grace.

Sometimes, those small moments can mean more than you’ll ever know.

Through King Productions, we believe in the power of storytelling and the healing that can happen through art. We are proud to partner with the Donny Hathaway Legacy Project in using Donny’s story, music, and legacy to continue conversations around mental health, healing, and breaking the stigma surrounding asking for help.

🎭 Art can entertain. Art can educate. Art can heal.

So check on your people. Check on the ones who always seem strong. And most importantly, remember that asking for help is not a sign of weakness.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available.

📞 Call or text 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

You matter.
Your story matters.
And there is still more life to live. ❤️

Are we still doing #FlashbackFridays? 😂 I just rediscovered this video I made back in 2016.

Ten years later, so much has changed, but this part hasn’t. I’m still committed to bringing more awareness to ASL, Deaf/HOH culture, and what it actually means to move through the world with an invisible disability.

Apparently 2016 Geneus already knew what 2026 Geneus would be doing 😂

Speaking of which… have y’all signed up for my upcoming ASL classes yet? 👀😏

P.S. Thank you @ivistofoto for filming this and for encouraging me to face my fears and become the person I needed when I was growing up 🫶🏽

Married and Still Lookin’

I only have a few photos and selfies from this production because it was fast and challenging in a lot of ways. But I am so grateful to get to work alongside these talented people time and time again, and to meet new ones. Bringing to life a character written with you in mind has a different kind of pressure to it, but then getting on the stage I realized all I ever needed to be was just me and that was going to shine through the work. Until the next one 💍

An extra thank you to @iamrobertkingjr and @kingproductionsatl for the opportunity to work on this production

And @ejaymills for keeping me sane and being a wonderful onstage husband and offstage friend

We might be back sooner than you think 🤫

I’m still smiling thinking about this experience! 💕 Being part of :Married and Still Looking", the hilarious and heartfelt new stage play by @iamrobertkingjr , has truly been such a joy. Thank you for trusting me with Lorraine : such a funny, layered, beautifully complicated character that challenged me and made me laugh every single night. I honestly feel so lucky to have shared the stage with a cast and team that brought so much talent, energy, and heart to every performance. The writing was so smart, so sharp, and the audience reactions made each night feel incredibly special. Huge love to my amazing partner-in-crime @ william m carroll, jr as my Caleb, and to the absolute “worst ex ever,” @Iamwilliamhayes as Andre, for making every scene so much fun to play. And a very special thank you to Robert King Jr. for your vision, your brilliance, and your trust. My heart is so full from this one. ✨
