I think I am going to say thank you now!

I Think I Am Going to Throw Up Now has won the most promising production & audience choice awards for Hart House Drama Festival 2026.

This show has been a dream to direct — staging these incredible artists in their homes on stage was an undertaking I was incredibly fortunate to have had.

The way each Abbey brought together the character in all her multifaceted glory, made me glad we didn’t over-elaborate in our casting call!

Isabella, from the first “wow, hey people” to your final words on stage, you brought a sense of self to the role that required taking incredible risks and rearing incredible rewards in the process. You took this show by storm and gave us an angle of abbey I would have loved to have known. I am honoured to have worked with someone so sure of their abilities, and cannot wait for what’s next!

Anya, you tore up the Hart House stage a matter of weeks before the drama festival. Seeing your subtlety and enthusiasm come alive in the rehearsal process, made myself and the entire team wholly awe struck by your presence as Abbey! Your voice and command over the audience changed this show into something entirely new and exciting, I am endlessly grateful that you trusted this show with your whole heart.

Ella, your vulnerability as Abbey made a mark on my direction of the role. You brought her to the stage with so many facets, it was hard to ignore just how you unwaveringly presented Abbey as a person before the world of the show. In getting to know you, I’ve gotten to know myself.

V!!!!!!!!!!! You demon of a writer. I am in absolute shock that they did not censor us or change our script at all. I wouldn’t have done this show over a phone call for anybody else, but you. Having the opportunity to work with you during the writing process made me realise the Abbeys and Rosies surrounding me, furthering my drive to get this show on stage. You are the best writing partner anyone could ask for, and your creative direction & manifestation for this show took us all the way to Hart House.
