Thankful every dang day for this; my people, my village..something that many do not have! I am grateful to love, and be loved..like truly, fully, and unconditionally! Life can be really hard sometimes, but even on my worst days, I am reminded that I have so much. We were missing a few tonight, including my oldest, Noah..but the good news is, we do not need one big, special day to celebrate living this life with one another. I am the best kind of rich, and my heart is full! Cheers to you, and yours…hold your people close! ❤️🙏🏼

5 months of Junie (yesterday🤪)!!! Let me tell ya..we LOVE this girl, and she loves us! 🥲🩷 She also loves (in no particular order)
1. Mommy 👩
2. Daddy 👨
3. Mama
4. infant cereal 🥣 (does not know how she feels about purées yet)
5. Mamacita
6. watching big brothers (she’s got so used to the noise, she think it’s funny when they’re yelling at each other 🫠🤣)
7. Being in mom’s arms while she’s supposed to be writing a paper for school
8. Watching daddy and Silas do weird things
9. Looking at kitty 🐱
10. Kicking her feet (especially in the bath) 👣
11. Having her thumb in her mouth (although she’s not sucking it..yet)
12. Listening to mommy sing 🎤
13. Watching us all dance like fools 💃
14. Reading books with brother 📕
15. Ms. Jenny and Ms. Kayla 🩷🥰

Junie also popped her first 2 teeth (front, bottom) earlier in the month, and she finally enjoys tummy time because she can roll on ova. She’s just the sweetest, cuddliest, happiest, little-lady, and we just keep falling more and more in love with her! ❤️

P.S. No, I would never put myself on the list 3 times. 🧐

004 Laughing With Mom

Oh, What a joy this woman is! I’m so grateful to have a mother as tenacious, hilarious, tender, and creative as @ivybrog 💖 she has always travelled both the mountains and the valleys with grace, and she has probably been my biggest teacher by example when it comes to how we grapple with loss graciously.

I drove to see her for Mother’s Day last weekend and we got some really special, quality time together. It’s hard living in a different state than most of my immediate family, and while I try to see them about once a month, it can be difficult.

Once I confirmed by plans to go see my family, I made sure to pack my recorder in case I might want to save a certain sound. We got into a huge laughing fit about something—I can’t even remember—and in the cool-down I pulled my recorder out to capture us laughing a bit more. Then I paired it with a couple of videos from the bench we were sitting/laughing on.

There will still be so much laughter even after I go deaf, I know this. But to hear it, that’s something I’ll miss so much. Especially the laughter of people I love the most.

Who has the best laugh in your life?
