As we’ve been busy prepping for a very exciting event in LA this week (more to come!), we can’t help but think back to our last in-person event @godmothersbooks earlier this summer.

Apparently organizations like TED don’t want us to have this scientifically proven info. But why?

Very excited to share this episode with @ivyjoeva with you. In case you missed it, my podcast has a new name: The Fertile Womb.

In this first OFFICIAL episode of the Fertile Womb, Ivy and I chat about the spiritual aspects of fertility and conception.

Ivy shares about her personal journey into working with fertility, pregnancy and birth. From there we transition into talking about her experience with bringing the sacred back into fertility.

On the conception journey it's very common to get stuck in all the details or lab tests, hormone levels, sperm and egg quality and to forget that conception involves a deep spiritual connection as well.

There's also a vulnerable share from me about the conception of my daughter.

Texts between friends.

Attended my first retreat last year with birth-workers, the only acupuncturist, surrounded by doulas and midwives. They knew it was a matter of time before I stepped in to the calling fully.

A midwife friend agreed to be a mentor. By the end of a meeting she had me sharing and making statements about my Self and out it came: I am a healer.

At a special outing, again with friends/colleagues in the birth world, I balled my eyes through exercises surrounding my confidence and identity as a creative, healer and doula.

I’ve been called a fertility doula, wellness doula, healthcare doula, acu-doula. I am all of these things - and more. (It’s the manifesting generator in me. IYKYK.)

I hold hands, sometimes quite literally. Wipe tears and snotty noses. Hold space. Provide referrals and options. Encourage to listen to inner knowings and not be dissuaded. Answer questions about insurance. Seek answers if I don’t have them. Gather resources. Educate.

I have trouble owning the title. Because I have yet to attend a single birth?

I also haven’t technically completed any formal training or certification.

I know, in my heart though, that the formality isn’t where the passion or dedication lies. That’s the patriarchal capitalistic driven rat race doing what it does best - control. I know that first hand in the do’s and don’ts that come with holding a formal license while practicing a traditional medicine. In fact, I can hear my girl @mamathreebirds, congratulating me because she’d say the minute someone wants to be a doula made them one.

This week is world doula week. I am working on accepting this part of me. Doula-ing myself; as we all are really.

Doulas are all around you. They come in different forms. It isn’t a fad. As long as birth (and death) has been happening, doulas have been showing up - without the title. They have been community and family members, just doing what needed to be done to guide a new soul Earth-side and the rebirth of another. Thank you to all of those who have come before me, and those that now allow me to watch alongside them.

One of my wishes + intentions to create in my move to Lisbon was Community + Sisterhood.

Yesterday I opened my home to host a Birth Stories circle facilitated by @ivyjoeva & @seedoflife.care. It was a touching, nurturing and connecting, with a powerful share by one of our sisters and yummy treats from @the_nudge_lisboa.

I'm so grateful to have been connected to these women, it was beautiful to see that intention of community and sisterhood coming to life, and I hope to continue to host many more events like these and bring women together. ❤️

🕯Samhain has come and gone.

🌬I spent today in a deep space of tenderness, grateful to the 16 courageous woman who participated in last evenings sacred death ritual. Standing in her choice, each woman released a belief into the fire of life 🔥letting it die, allowing themselves to be reborn in the embrace of sisterhood. It was deep, heavy, vulnerable work. Weighted by generations, upheld by lifetimes of carrying.

This work required strength and devotion and I could not be more honored to have held space for such inner alchemy.

❤️Thank you to my sister and facilitation soulmate, the wise and profoundly gifted @pearlangelica.ford for her dedication, intuition and ability to see essence in all that it is.

❤️ Thank you to my lifemate and sentient light being @elise_corinne_ for opening her home to this work, and gate keeping the fire with diligence and care.

❤️ Thank you to my coven… the witches- who show up in trust and generosity, willing to be guided into the unseen. You are love.
