🔥 ENTRE AMIGOS — AN INTIMATE NIGHT OF AUTHENTIC FLAMENCO 🔥

After nearly a year away, Jondo Flamenco returns to Club Fox for a very special evening devoted to the raw emotion, depth and beauty of authentic flamenco.

On Sunday, September 13, internationally acclaimed cantaor CRISTO CORTÉS, direct from France, joins PIROUZ DE CASPIO and an extraordinary ensemble of flamenco artists for an intimate night of cante, guitar and baile.

Born in Marseille into a family of flamenco singers with roots in Almería, Andalucía, Cristo Cortés is recognized as one of France’s leading flamenco cantaores. His career has taken him throughout Europe, Spain, the United States, Canada, Japan and beyond, performing alongside some of flamenco’s most distinguished artists.

Joining him on stage:

🎙️ PIROUZ DE CASPIO — Cante
🎸 DAVID McLEAN — Flamenco Guitar
💃 CAROLA ZERTUCHE — Baile
💃 LOURDES RODRÍGUEZ — Baile
💃 ELISABETH ESTEBANEZ — Baile
✨ + SPECIAL GUEST DANCERS

This is flamenco LIVE.

Not recreated from a recording. Not choreographed to a track.

A true cuadro flamenco — singers, guitarist and dancers listening, responding, challenging and creating together in the moment.

The cry of the cante.
The tension of a single guitar.
The golpe of a dancer’s foot against the stage.
The silence before the next phrase.
And the compás that holds everything together.

What happens on this stage will belong to this night, these artists and the audience experiencing it with them.

Flamenco al Cielo — Honoring Gopal Slavonic & Nina Menéndez

On October 12th, the Bay Area flamenco community will unite for an extraordinary evening of artistry, passion, and remembrance. We gather to celebrate the lives and legacies of two of our most cherished and influential figures: Gopal Slavonic, brilliant flamenco guitarist, and Nina Menéndez, visionary producer and tireless advocate for the art of flamenco.

Their unexpected passing—less than ten days apart in July and August 2025—has left a profound void in our hearts, on our stages, and across the global flamenco family.

This is more than a concert. It is a heartfelt homage to Gopal Slavonic and a tribute to Nina Menendez, a shared expression of grief and gratitude, and a reaffirmation of the community they helped shape. More than a dozen exceptional flamenco artists, representing some of the highest caliber talent you will find anywhere in the United States, have volunteered to perform without fee. They come together out of deep love for Gopal and Nina, offering their artistry as a gift to honor their memory.

We invite you to stand with us.A minimum suggested donation of $35 will help cover production costs. There is no upper limit—your generosity will allow us not only to honor these remarkable artists with proper support for their dedication, but also to ensure that this tribute reaches the standard of excellence Gopal and Nina always championed.

The impact of this event extends far beyond the Bay Area. The ripples of Gopal and Nina’s influence reach across the United States, North America, and into the heart of Spain itself. Your presence and contribution will help us sustain that spirit, preserving the essence of flamenco that they so fiercely protected and nurtured.

Join us on October 12th for an evening of high energy, world-class flamenco, and shared remembrance. Together, let’s lift our art, our voices, and our hearts—Flamenco al Cielo.
