All weather adventure takes the edge off. I wish I could bottle the smell of the manzanita for you, the sun bouncing off the ponderosa sap, horse sweat and leather, so you could have a break from this insanity, too. Today I found my dad’s covid mask. We both got it six weeks before he died. I put it on and could smell his bay rum and copenhagen, and for a minute I could feel him pressing us all on, saying “Don’t think too hard, just do it.” He was a man of action and so willing to get uncomfortable. That kind of endurance is slowly fading but I’m determined to keep it going like he taught me. My bud @iwanderwild wears his boots now, and we hold joy and pain and grief and fear and beauty and intention and action like that. Yakoke to all who hold it all with me, don’t run away, don’t fade, don’t slip, don’t lie.

I consider myself a really lucky gal ❤️

I get to ride a lot of beautiful horses, in beautiful country, build their confidence and love them before handing them off to their forever homes.

Looking Glass is an incredible horse, a big guy, with the sweetest heart, and a larger than life personality who prefers people to other horses.

I can’t wait to see @iwanderwild and him as team, he deserves the one on one connection, love and attention ❤️

It’s ALWAYS hard to say goodbye to horses I’ve had, we spend too much time together to not have a connection, but it’s a lot easier when the perfect home materializes and is obviously meant to be.

Thank you, Amy for giving my handsome boy a wonderful home!

You guys are going to be an awesome team!

Dont forget to check his buttcheeks for ticks!

The last five photos are of Amy and Looking Glass ❤️

Long overdue post! But over the summer I got the incredible opportunity to intern for Mccool Photography at @blenheimequisports! As many of you know photography is my passion and I love being at horse shows. So to be able to photograph horses at such a beautiful location was amazing. I can’t thank Amy and the whole Mccool photography team enough for this opportunity. From shooting candids, and collecting SD cards to shooting the Willy West arena by my self and taking photos of the grand prix from inside, everyday was exciting and educational! With Amy’s guidance and knowledge I was able to better my self as a photographer. Thank you so so much @mccoolphotos and @blenheimequisports for this opportunity. Can’t wait for next summer!!

Such a crazy fun season in ranching— the cherry on top each year after water goes off is Circuit Finals. So happy to cut up with my pal @iwanderwild and celebrate her 🦂bday before winter sets in.
