mañana abrimos dos expos 🌷

durante meses hemos estado investigando, escribiendo, llamando, recolectando, restaurando y enmarcando obras de Trixie Briceño, a la vez que aprendiendo sobre piezas hechas a partir de node-based programming con Ix Shells. tambien es mi primera vez curando una expo en Panamá, algo que sería imposible sin el acompañamiento de Jenny y Juan :)

por otro lado, estuvimos viendo cómo armar un barco (literalmente) y alzar montañas en lienzos dentro del museo sin quedarnos poquititos en el intento.

ahora, después de un mes completo de montajes/desmontajes, una subasta, varias obras instaladas/desinstaladas y de tripear todo el proceso, con mucha emoción les queremos invitar a ver Sistemas de lo maravilloso (con Trixie Briceño e Ix Shells) y Otras montañas, las que andan sueltas bajo el agua <3

nos vemos el 28.02.2026 a las 4pm en el MAC ❤️‍🔥

ABMB and Zero 10 launch. Onward.

010 the highly controversial Art Basel Installations curated by @eli_schein. Direct to Fair. Zero Fine Art Trad Galleries. Supported by Open Sea.

Each installation a commentary if you took the time.

Jack Butcher flat out told us how much it cost him to be there and made an interactive performance piece acquired during Basel by Beijing Museum.

X copy with his bubbles that will randomly “pop” over a 10 year time span, reducing the supply until only one remains, a commentary on money laundering.

Beeple and his social commentary on controversial art and political figures by having their likeness fused onto robotic dogs.

Yatreda’s haunting artwork that bridged ancestral story telling to the digital.

Ixshells and her touch designer interactive artwork.

Larva Labs showcased Matt Hall and John Watkinson. Dmitri’s beautiful and instantly recognizable forms and patterns were presented in both sculpture and digital format.

Andrea Chiampo’s Future Past 1:1 Sculpture and Digital Version.

Turell’s color and light elegance.

Quasimondo had the young and old in reverence to a message from the liminal space.

It went over many heads. I had to explain what on chain art meant several times to trad on lookers.

This wasn’t for everyone and that was the point. But whether it is liked or not decentralization has entered the highest of art fairs. And galleries will have to evolve and adapt.

Against All Odds - Historical Women and New Algorithms is open @smkmuseum through December 8th.

Interlinked is a large-scale interactive installation by @ix.shells that utilizes pictorial and contextual information about historical artworks on display. With intuition and emotion, she plays with this data in #TouchDesigner to create pixelated landscapes that shift across the galley space.

In a year when #AI and the role of big tech giants have dominated the news, it feels almost inevitable that one of the most headline-grabbing artworks at #ArtBasel Miami Beach was a work of digital art (or rather, a digital-physical hybrid) by Mike Winkelmann (aka Beeple). ⁠
⁠
The performance installation of humanoid robots with hyper-realistic heads of tech titans and art-historical icons was featured in the #artfair’s inaugural digital section, Zero 10. ⁠

Beyond Beeple’s viral presentation, twelve galleries and studios featured works in Zero 10, demonstrating the range of evolving trajectories within #digitalart and how these practices are reshaping the way art is created, experienced and sold. ⁠

For the first time ever, digital art entered Art Basel’s main fair. @artbasel

With the debut of Zero 10, blockchain-native and digitally born works were fully integrated into Basel Miami Beach - not as a side show, but as part of the core exhibition.

What stood out most wasn’t just the work, but the shift in art-fair culture: open, fluid spaces; IRL-activated installations; and artists present, engaging directly with audiences and collectors.

From Beeple’s animatronic dogs to XCOPY’s long-term bubbles, from Klingemann’s AI oracle to Butcher’s receipt-as-art, Zero 10 showed how digital art is not virtual, but deeply embodied.

Across Miami - from NADA to Untitled to Scope - digital and tokenized art was visible, confident, and increasingly central. @newartdealers @untitledartfairs @scopeartshow

It felt like a union - a community of pioneers, newcomers, platforms, and galleries coming together to show the world what digital art is capable of when given a real stage.

What a week at Miami Art Basel!

I’m leaving with that unmistakable feeling of being recharged - creatively, emotionally, and intellectually. There’s something powerful about spending days surrounded by art, friends, ideas, and the collective curiosity of so many people who genuinely believe in the transformative potential of culture.

Between conversations about technology’s role in shaping new forms of expression, encounters with artists pushing boundaries, and moments of quiet awe in front of works that stopped me in my tracks, I was reminded of why we do what we do. Art isn’t just about objects; it’s about possibility. It’s about the stories we tell, the questions we ask, and the worlds we imagine.

Grateful for the energy, the dialogues, the surprises, and the moments of pure wonder. Here’s to carrying this momentum forward, and making what we do not only better, but more meaningful.
