Up until recently, I used to think Tantra was mainly about sex. But I’ve come to learn it’s about so much more.

It’s about life force, balance, the masculine and feminine energies that make up the world around us. And since techno is a huge part of my world, I’ve been wanting to explore where the teachings of Tantra apply to the music industry, and where they can provide deeper understanding and even enhance our experience of it.

As it’s still international womens’ month, I’ve invited my good friend Tantra teacher & intimacy specialist @magdakayofficial to have a deep conversation with me over IG live on my experience as a female in the industry.

She’ll be sharing her vast expertise on the subject, and we’ll be diving into some pretty raw questions. She’ll also be sharing insights on how we can use these universal teachings to our advantage to maximize creative output & smash career goals.

We’re going to go deep and unfiltered. And I’m fucking excited.

Catch us live at 13:30 CET tomorrow, 24th of March.

Why can it be so hard to just speak the way we feel?

Carrying the weight internally can become f***ing heavy, yet we often face a massive struggle to just somehow release them.

The reasons are countless and unique to each individual. Early childhood imprints, past relationship trauma, defence mechanisms ingrained into our subconscious; the list goes on. Modern society's “man up” focused approach to success can have a serious impact on how much we’re conditioned to keep to ourselves.

The sad part of it is that shutting down those emotions disconnects us not only from others, but from ourselves.

Tapping into the feelings we can’t put into words (whether it’s voluntary or not) is a major key to a deeper understanding of self. Their release is a step closer to freedom.

Every time I’ve tried to keep my pain hidden and suppressed, it’s shown up in the music I play. I especially remember a set I played two years ago during a very emotionally challenging time. As soon as I finished, I was approached with some of the most heartfelt words, one of the dancers even mentioned she was in tears during the set. Connecting with people on that level through music might be one of the things I’ve been most grateful for in my artistic journey.

Because that’s the power of music. Transforming pain into beauty. Tapping into deep blocks and releasing them, even when you don’t know why they were there.

The right track at the right time can be a powerful tool for healing. It can be the voice that’s been drowned by the pain, anxiety and past conditioning.

The music you gravitate to can tell you so much more about yourself, your emotional state, your shadow, your strength. And it can enable you to release the feelings that weigh you down.

Taking that time to connect with yourself through music in itself a form of self care. I’d love to hear which tracks do that for you 👁

Today we got out in the cold but beautiful ‘black park’
It’s so lovely there but a bit of a long walk to the playground so by the time we got there Sophia-Rose was rather tired and cold and had a mini breakdown 🙈 but it was lovely all the same. Thanks for getting us out and about to somewhere pretty and new Izzy! Xxxx
