Thrilled to announce that TUNA ON RYE has been selected to premiere at @lashortsfest in August! LA Shorts International Film Festival is an Academy Award and BAFTA-qualifying festival that takes place in the heart of Los Angeles. Could not be more proud to have shot this in LA and have it premiere here as well! Details on the screening date and time to follow. TUNA ON RYE (2026) back in october, i was feeling frustrated and discouraged by the slow pace the film industry was moving at. casting on my feature had slowed and i was unsure if i would be able to raise enough money to get @thetalkingcatmovie off the ground. so i decided to just go for it and make something much more intimate on a near-$0 budget. in just 2 months, i assembled an incredible cast and crew to create something special. we just finished post-production on TUNA ON RYE and I couldn’t be prouder. there’s exciting news to come soon, but first I want to thank the people who poured their talent, time, and energy into this passion project. @njkling for sharing this beautiful script with me 10 years ago. one of the most breathtaking pieces of writing I’ve ever read, all in just 5 pages. @jemberjembs for being my day 1—as a classmate, friend, and colleague—and for introducing me to the incredibly talented @officialnancylinari & @damienleake. working with them on this challenging material was a privilege. @rhi.mt for producing this project remotely and keeping everything moving forward, and @davidarnold_film for handling the countless fires that come with production in LA. @paddymoynahan for being an amazing collaborator and bringing on @drk.hso and @shotbymatthew, whose expertise elevated every frame. @anusha.halwai, a phenomenal 1st AD and the start of what i know will be a lasting friendship. After years of working on this film, it finally feels real… SENDER is officially heading to SXSW Film Festival 💚✨ This film is what happens when a group of incredibly talented people show up every single day with passion, focus, love for the story, and an insane amount of heart. From the long days to the late nights to nailing every last detail, everyone worked tirelessly to bring this film to life, and I’m so proud of what we made together. So beyond grateful for this team and this movie. Can’t wait to share SENDER with audiences in Austin.

In the pandemic, @sophhreshh and I set out to write an action comedy that looked more like us: queer, femme, multicultural, trauma-informed, and playful. All things we hadn’t seen enough of in the genre. Against all the odds, in this insane industry, we made a damn movie. We were lucky enough to be paired with a ‘team of believers’ (as @jonnycrave says)… who also just so happened to be the most talented people in this industry. I will never get over how lucky we are to have convinced all these brilliant psychos to come on this quirky 80’s wild ride with us. @stonecoldfoxmovie comes out today, stream it on VOD or head out to the movies if it’s playing in your city. We hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making it.
