If you knew Trey, you knew his favorite shoes: his huaraches. He loved them.
This week, our spiritual daughter @j45m1n.e spent a few days with us. Jas is a gifted creative and artist, and as she was leaving, she left us something incredibly special: this beautiful painting.
Jas’s story with our family began when she and Trey worked together at a shoe store while he was in high school. What started as a friendship soon grew into something deeper. They began having spiritual conversations, and Trey invited her to church. Before long, Jas became a regular, gave her life to Jesus, and was baptized soon after. She quickly became part of our family, and she always will be because of the beautiful connection she shared with our son.
This painting speaks to my heart in so many ways. If you knew Trey, you can see him in every detail: his beloved huaraches, his blue socks, the way he wore his pants, and that goofy stance that was so uniquely him.
But what moves me most is that this painting captures not just how Trey looked, but who he was.
Trey was a young man who stood with people, no matter their background or where they were in life. He made room for everyone. And he especially loved standing alongside those who were spiritually curious, asking questions, and exploring faith,just like Jas.
Jas, thank you for using your gift to give us such a meaningful gift in return: a beautiful reminder of Trey’s essence, his heart, and the person he was. You captured so much of him in this painting, and it means more to us than words can express.
And to all of you who have reached out, prayed for us, and shared stories about Trey and the impact he had on your lives, thank you. Please keep the stories coming. Every memory shared brings comfort to our hearts and reminds us of the many lives Trey touched in his own unique way.

Jas is such a blessing to our school and program! She has served as ASG Marketing Chair for two years along with serving as Stage Manager for our LPU Arts Program! Jasmine has such a creative and servant heart that blesses everyone around her. We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see how God continues to use her! ✨👏💛

Late post I know— but wow! “Cinderella” was the show of a lifetime. One of the hardest, but most meaningful productions I’ve ever been apart of. With this to top off one of the most busiest semester’s I’ve had yet, I’m so grateful for the joy this show brought me. Thank you to my amazing cast and crew for the fun memories, as I endured my last live show, and one of my personal favorites. So grateful I got to be apart of this, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
