We had a paws-itively great time at today’s Fun Animal Friday with our friends from the Judith A Bassett Canid Education & Conservation Center! 🦊 Families got to meet and learn about these fascinating foxes up close. 🍎🍂 Fall day trip idea from Temecula Valley

About an hour and a half away, Julian is one of the easiest nearby mountain towns from Temecula for a day away or a quick weekend. And fall might be the best time to make the drive.

🍎 Pick apples at a U-Pick orchard
⛏️ Head underground at Eagle Mining Co.
🐺 Visit wolves, foxes + other canids
🥾 Spend a few hours on the trails
🍕 Grab BBQ, pizza, craft beer + local cider
🥧 And obviously, get the pie

Save this one for the next time you’re looking for a mini vacation near Temecula or something different to do this autumn in Southern California.

Have you ever seen a happier fox than this? Lena had the time of her life at this weekend's photo shoot day at the @jabcecc JAB Canid Education & Conservation Center!

I wanted to take a moment and express my utmost appreciation and gratitude for everyone who has come to support this incredible nonprofit this year. From booking photo shoots, tours, encounters, experiences, and sponsoring animals - everything helps this facility thrive.

If you know me, then you know how important this organization is to both myself and my family - we have known the founders for well over a decade, and never have I met more passionate, compassionate, and loving individuals towards animals that need us. 🦊🐺

📍 Judith A. Bassett Canid Center — Santa Ysabel

Foxes, wolves, coyotes, and New Guinea singing dogs. You can actually feed and hold the foxes — it’s the only place in the world that lets you do this with the Russian domesticated foxes. Appointment only, so book ahead.

📍 Lions Tigers & Bears — Alpine
@lionstigers_andbears
142 acres, about an hour east of downtown. Every tiger, lion, and bear here was rescued from private ownership. It’s the only sanctuary of its kind in Southern California accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. Reservations required, no direct contact with the animals.
