When two homeowners found a vacant 1930s Colonial Revival in Needham, decades of awkward additions had turned it into what designer Meg McSherry calls “a hot mess.” The couple saw good bones, and the design turner turned a former in-law apartment into a kitchen made for gathering.

Mushroom-toned cabinetry, Delft tiles, and a mahogany island designed to look like a freestanding piece of furniture give the kitchen an English country feel. The color keeps going from there: a deep green pantry with gathered curtains, a scalloped banquette, and a primary bedroom in @farrowandball’s “Sulking Room Pink.” 🌿🫖

I walk through the Public Garden almost every morning, and often again in the evening. It is one of those rare places that changes completely with the light, yet always feels unmistakably Boston.

That makes it especially meaningful to once again co-chair the 2027 Green & White Gala benefiting the Friends of the Public Garden w/ @jaciboston & @francescamillsstylist.

This year’s theme, Garden After Dark, leans into that transformation, when the landscape becomes moodier, more mysterious, and a little unexpected.

On April 9, 2027, we will gather to celebrate the extraordinary stewardship that keeps these beloved green spaces thriving.

We are deeply grateful to @bostonhomemag, editor @jaciboston and her team, and writer @kylehoepner for the beautiful article in the magazine’s current Fall Issue.

We took inspiration from the modernist architecture of The Getty Center museum in LA… with its crisp white form and connection to expansive views. We added thick walnut “portals” throughout. They line doorways, windows, skylights, interior sight lines, and views with deep, rich frames.

This project is the result of close collaboration between our dedicated LTD team and partners, @crmpartners @columbiacontractingcorp and @krhcabinetmakers, without whom the vision would not be realized.

Fittingly, the stunning photography is by talented LA-based duo @arturo.and.lauren.

Above all, we send special thanks to our clients for their trust and inspiration. It has been a privilege.
