Great way to send the second graders off to Thanksgiving break…give them pumpkin pie. “Peyton Picks the Perfect Pie” written by @jackbishopofficial is a great book to read to kids to encourage them to try new foods. I had a lot of students who had never tried pumpkin pie, tried it, AND LIKED IT thanks to Peyton. Dream come true: Last Saturday I visited the studios of ATK and met some of the cast members of ATK and Cook’s Country - Shows I’ve been a DEVOTED follower of for almost two decades!!!

I cannot express with words how GRATEFUL I was for how graceful and welcoming everybody was but then…the cherry on top of the cake: visiting their KITCHEN EQUIPMENT STORAGE room!!! The labels, the precision, the shelving… I was in ORGANIZING HEAVEN !!!! SO much so that I forgot to take pics with some of my favorite chefs! hahahaha…. but I will always cherish the great conversations we had and the many, many recipes I’ve borrowed from them over the years.

Long live ATK!!!

It’s been a month since the show came out, hopefully yall peeped but if not, I still won’t spoil it! Some tea on this episode tho…the cow came outta nowhere!

Jeanie was like, “Make a 3 course meal using Betsy,” and we were like bet! But then Chef Richard goes, “You gotta use a lesser cut.” Then Elle and Dan are like, “We taking off all the prime cuts, so yall only get round, chuck, sirloin, and brisket.” Then here come Jack talking about, “Make some magic!”

Mannnnn, if you watch the show you know I always lose at picking spoons and I got last aka brisket! They did not hide the faces I made (lmao like ever) so yeah, that was my genuine reaction bc yall want me to make a brisket do WHAT in FOUR hours?! HYPERBOLE!

But, God took care of me yet again, and that bad boy did what it needed to do. I made Crabcake Hushpuppies, Braised Brisket with Herbed Mash, and an Earl Grey infused Church Pound Cake.

Shoutout to Dan, Jeanie, Jack, Elle, and Chef Richard for enjoying some good ol Southern eats ✊🏽🫶🏽🖤🥂 #americastestkitchen
