When we hit the streets with Know Your Rights flyers, we’re not just handing out info… we’re actively building safety nets and stronger more resilient communities. We canvas neighborhoods, talk to local businesses, and remind folks they have rights if ICE shows up. This is mutual aid. This is what showing up looks like.

Join us mañana, Tuesday July 1st at 5:30 PM in El Monte for a “barrio walk”.

We’ll be meeting behind Matilija Collective. Bring walking shoes, a tote bag, and someone you love. No experience needed—just heart. Let’s move together.

We appreciate every message, call, and concern — your voices matter. ❤️

The El Monte Cares team is working day and night to support families in crisis, especially those who are homebound or urgently in need.

🌟 Impact So Far:
• Families Served: 1,246
• Individuals Supported: 4,984
• Partnerships: 8 and growing
• In our first week alone, we handled over 1,500 calls and completed major deliveries

We are currently receiving calls from all over LA County; however, we are prioritizing families in the El Monte community to ensure our local residents receive immediate support first. We are servicing families identified through faith-based organizations, the Mountain View School District, and key partners like Victory Outreach, along with many dedicated nonprofits.

✨ Due to the visible success of this effort, cities like Montebello and others are now duplicating this model to help meet the needs of families in their own communities — a powerful reflection of the impact we’re making together.

This program grew from 0 to 1,500 calls in just days — and we are scaling fast. While challenges and rapid growth have required us to adapt, our mission remains rooted in compassion, transparency, and service.

If you or someone you know still needs help, please continue to reach out — we’re here for you.

Together, we are building a stronger, united El Monte. 💙

Repost from @laborontheline

Justice for Janitors with @seiu_org was a bold campaign to organize low wage immigrant workers. The Battle of Century City in LA marked a turning point for the campaign, showing the power and moral courage of these workers to the world. We must remember this campaign today as we continue the fight for immigrant rights.

I had to come to my foodstagram because this pizza from @lapizzeriaco was delicious. And if I have myself a wood fire pizza, of course I’ll be taking pictures of it🍕 I could follow this pizza oven around and take pictures all day…with some slices of pizza in between.

We had the pleasure of having @lapizzeriaco come out to feed @operationhealthyhearts volunteers today, and let me tell ya— we were so incredibly grateful! Thanks again @lapizzeriaco !! 10/10 would recommend!

🚨 ICE ACTIVITY? Film + post responsibly. Protect your community. ***Correction: this incident happened approximately 11 AM***

If you record ICE, your video can keep someone safe—or cause panic. Here’s how to help, not harm:

🔺YES, you can record in public. Stand back, don’t interfere. Say: “I’m documenting. I’m not interfering.”

Always include:

❓WHAT happened?

This helps undocumented neighbors know if it’s safe to avoid the area—or if the danger has passed.

🧾 Don’t post rumors. Don’t say “raid” unless confirmed. Don’t assume anyone’s status.

🔺 Blur faces. Never expose someone without consent. Use Signal, TimeStamp, or ObscuraCam.

This Sunday @missrodgershood returns with The People’s Free Food Drive-thru. Help get food into the hands of folks that need it.

Also, @radicalsewingclub will be switching up the schedule in Aug/Sept so come out on the 30th and join their community potluck to connect and chat about where you can sew with folks while they are on hiatus.

There’s always a need for caring folks to come out and support our communities. Find a time/day/location that works for you and just show up!

Don’t see something that works for you right now? Check the roundup next week or join a rapid response network near you.

These “ICE Agents” / Bounty Hunters / human traffickers are continuing to kidnap and disappear our community members. Our most vulnerable who are out in the open at their car washing sites, or those street vending, or those on the corner of Home Depot looking for work or those waiting for the bus, or anyone who is “Brown”. At this point they are literally detaining anyone Brown regardless if they are a citizens or have any type of status in order to fill their quota and to feed this monstrosity of for-profit detention centers. I’ve heard people say “they should stay home so ICE doesn’t get them”, people forget these are family members who have to put food on the table, whose rent is due soon, they have bills to pay. No one crosses the border or puts themselves in danger going out to find work during these times because they want to, it is a necessity! These are the times folks can step up to fundraiser for their local migrant community member so they don’t have to go out to work, and there are so many models of how to do this…so many amazing mutual aids are popping up to support local flower sellers, fruit stands, car washers…and so many direct fundraisers for families impacted by ICE kidnapping. These mutual aids is what is keeping many families afloat and here. These mutual aid efforts are urgent. And all of us can do our part.

🌿Both @daylaborernetwork @carwasherxs have called for folks to also adopt a corner / a car wash . Many migrant community members will continue to go out looking for work and we can literally be there with them and not leave them alone. We won’t survive alone. Connect with and stand with day laborers near the Home Depot or car washing site, look out for ICE. @latu_ktown even put together a step by step on how to create your own Community Defense Center in your neighborhood. @the_ilrc has so many downloadable ( multi-language) resources to hand out, and @wercalifornia even provides KYR and critical information in some cool door hangers.

💜Our survival, our freedom , or lives are interconnected. We cannot do this alone. All our migrant communities across the country need us in all the ways possible from legal resources to groceries.
