ＴＨＵＲＳＤＡＹ 𝔽ℝ𝔼𝔼 𝔼ℕ𝕋ℝ𝕐 AT ⒻⓊⓃ ⓉⒾⓂⒺ ⓅⓄⓃⓎ

The 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍 𝑾𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 angels are supporting ᴘɪᴛᴄʜꜰᴏʀᴋ™️ Approved Lismore band 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑷𝒖𝒛𝒛𝒍𝒆 at Ⓕⓤⓝ Ⓣⓘⓜⓔ Ⓟⓞⓝⓨ tomorrow night Thursday 8 October and it’s English Three entry!

Media Puzzle are really good! We on at 9pm. And it’s free! Discharge your friendship duty at the lowest cost!

As a Murnane inspired band we are imaging in our minds Media Puzzle’s 2002 Melbourne Cup racing silks... yellow, royal blue epaulettes, yellow cap, royal blue star… 🏇

Other recent updates:
⭕️The angels saw scum thoroughbred Low Life recently and years on all our friends remain pure filth and jaded and bitter and faded and twisted. Jack Mannix VVitch house and SMV also good. Circle Pit reunion when?!?!?!

⭕️The angles just finished reading and discussing Max Easton’s new novel 𝘕𝘰𝘸, 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘺 and are in talks to start a punk squat.

⭕️The angeles have been in the studio laying it down. We shall see what comes of it. Let’s just hope Stew Mag gets a hold of our music to give us a brutal takedown!!!!

⭕️The angells were involved in reuniting CBR icons Passive Smoke after 8 year hiatus last week!! Proof that bands used to be good in our city! Angel Waste can only hope to become that good!

G’DDY UP! ⭐️

NEXT PERFORMANCE:

The Lucky Star Theatre Co. (SCYTHE) is taking a little detour and setting its sights on…

THE OLD BANGALOW HORSE STABLES 🐎

We’ve momentarily paused “The Optics of Cleo” to make something entirely separate for DINGO FESTIVAL 2026:

“THE PLACE REMEMBERS”

A site-responsive performance laboratory developed in, from and about the horse stables at Bangalow Showgrounds.

Over the weeks leading up to the festival, collaborators will spend time with the site, allowing its architecture, history and atmosphere to inform the work. Through conversation, observation and experimentation, we are developing sculptures, video works and original scripts that reflect upon place.

The resulting work will emerge from layers of memory, observation and emotion—both those held within the site and those brought to it by the people making the work.

Back with another round of Aussie Recs for you and this time I’m pulling 3 albums that feel the most important to me in my Australian music collection.

I think there is absolutely something to be said for music that comes out in your more formative years. You discover it and get to interact with it first hand when it’s local to you as well.

These are records I hope to pass on to my son when he is older and I hope if you haven’t heard them you enjoy discovering them. 🎶🎤👌🏻

What does it take to last in the art world?

For more than two decades, Nina Treffkorn and Edward Woodley have been putting artists first.

Since opening China Heights above Foster Street in Surry Hills in 2004, the pair have built an independent gallery around sincerity, patience and giving good work the time to develop.

We speak to Nina and Edward about growing up with artist parents, playing the long game and what it really takes for an artist to build a lasting career.

Take a closer look at a selection of works by artists represented by @chinaheights throughout the carousel.
