Certain words carry a lot of weight and should be used sparingly. Calling all of these people family is one of these moments when it feels very appropriate.

We all have this common love and passion for this just very fun way of training called CrossFit. CrossFit and competitions that have been created from it, have brought people from all kinds of backgrounds and from all over the world together.

This is what CrossFit is all about. Bringing people together. Creating a global community that pursues better standards of living and better individual development for each person in their own journey of life.

We are so thankful for all the friendships and all of the amazing memories CrossFit has brought to us.

As I started my new nursing job in the ICU a few weeks ago, I couldn’t help but appreciate the blessings in my life this summer;

A new puppy
Family that all gets along
Cousins that are best friends
An amazing gym & community & friends because of it
My childhood best friend getting to marry her best friend
A husband that shares the same hobbies
Good food ;)

James and Danica,

Firstly, thank you for letting us join in on the week in San Jose, it was so special to be apart of it and cheer on our best friend through it. It was also incredible to make a road trip out of it, just Jackson and me.

A love letter to the Spragues ➜

Jackson and I met James and Danica in the fall of 2023 when James moved to Liberty Lake to be closer to his now-wife, Danica.

The boys connected because James needed some new training partners. Jackson and James grew to be great friends very quickly as did Danica and myself. We had the honor of both being in their wedding August of 2024. What an immense privilege to promise to walk through life with them as their friends and encourage their marriage to never lose sight of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

James won the CrossFit games in 2024 but in my personal opinion this win in 2026 holds a lot more meaning…

We often joke that James and I are very similar, and that Danica and Jackson are very similar. Maybe it’s the oldest-child, youngest-child thing but maybe it’s in the way God knew the four of us needed each other to learn from and sharpen iron (Proverbs 27:17).

Now that Jackson and I are married, I hope you both know how much you’ve impacted our marriage. You have been people we look up to, lean on, and learn from. The way you love one another has challenged us to love each other better.

One of James’ greatest gifts isn’t his work ethic (even though it is impressive), his competitiveness or even his athletic talent—it’s his ability to make people feel seen, valued, and welcomed.

James, the way you care about Jackson as a best friend means more to me than any title you could ever achieve in this life. The way you lean on our Lord to be a better man and husband to Danica is more impressive than any amount of money you bring home.

What a BLESSING it is to be a witness of your life and the commitment to those around you.

Danica and James, you have the most open arms of anyone I’ve ever met. You wear the title of servant better than anyone I know. You make room for people, you let us shower at your house more than we are at our own home in a week, and you feed us (the most important). You wo

The now 2x champion people see on the floor is a reflection of the way James carries himself every single day, approaching everything in life with intention, energy, and full effort every time no matter the circumstances, pouring into the people around him, operating out of a joyful heart, and keeping Jesus at the center of it all. Seeing this over the years and now in person every day has blessed my life in more ways than I can count and made it easy to see the how and why of not one but two gold medals.

couldn’t be prouder of my friends and every bit of work that’s gone into this season of @crossfitgames prep. It’s been an absolute blessing getting to be a part of it and be able to look around and see your entire group of friends chasing big goals and making each other better in every way.
