Today was a good day. I got my mom to hit a workout!

I’ve been asking her for years to let me train her. My sister has been at it for a few months now and is down over 40 pounds. Today, both of them were over. My mom off to the side watching me train my sister. Then she starts trying things and asking questions. So I just ran with it.

This was a great moment for me, personally. Something I’m so passionate about - and my mom showing interest. It’s been a long time, but I’ve never wavered who I am at the core. Fellas or ladies who lead their households. Keep leading by example. People learn from your actions. Parents, this is especially important for you.

I’m not one of those market hosts to bullcrap ya. I like to tell you how it is and was. This weekend was pretty slow all around. It was another weekend with ample major events in and out of Lakeland. Some did great and others did not so great too. Weird weekend. But thanks so much to those who vended and to those who came out and supported small and local ☺️ And for your pleasure, you never know what may happen at one of our markets. This was the last thing I ever expected. It’s a blur now. People asked for me to release a clip, so here it is 😅😂 Blame @thehobbyspiral for this true scary-oke! Thanks @jaclyn_liebl for recording! I love the wide variety of ages and fitness levels that I get to train!

As an ER nurse, I spend most of my work day taking care of people who don’t want to help themselves. When I got the opportunity to truly help others who want to be helped, I took it and ran with it.

I’m not saying I know everything there is to know in the gym, not even close. What I can promise is that I care about my clients goals as much as they do, and I truly want to help them succeed - however that looks for them. It’s the entire reason I became a personal trainer.

Save this workout if you’re a beginner in the gym and need to get moving!

It truly doesn’t matter where you start. Only that you begin! Don’t let your doubts stop you from having a life you thought was unattainable.

Most training videos that I come across are way too advanced for many beginners. This workout has great movement patterns that even a beginner can try!!

Jaclyn just started working out a couple months ago. We are working joint strength, getting up and down from the floor, dynamic movement, anti rotational core work, balance, and strength!

Jaclyn made the choice for a better future. This can be you too!

My sister has been working hard to change the course of her life. I’ve been putting together beginner workouts for Jaclyn and she’s progressing drastically.

Some movement focuses are:

1. Be more stable with her own body weight - as she continues to lose weight this will get easier, but we’ve already started to build this foundation. Many moves can be modified to fit any level of strength or capabilities.
2. Getting up and down easier from the ground. Jaclyn has had trouble with getting up from a lunge position. We’ve added height and a pillow to an assisted split squat to create proper angles to avoid compensating.
3. Shoulder and lower back strength. Carrying added weight for many years has put a strain on Jaclyn’s lumbar spine. We are doing many hinge and pull movements to help build muscle around her spine. Right shoulder pain and immobility is something we are trying to even out.
4. Cardiovascular strength. I push Jaclyn at a pace that keeps her heart rate going, while also judging when we need to slow it down. This process helps ensure we are fully engaged and leave nothing on the table.

Jaclyn is 2 months into her journey of finding and keeping a lifestyle of discipline. It’s not easy, and there will be many times along this journey I know we will have struggles. But discipline is doing something even when you don’t feel like it. Every day we move forward is a day towards a better future that truly only Jaclyn can control.
