Adelaide audiences react to Logan St, presented by State Theatre Company and playing at the Space Theatre until August 8. Some found the experimental structure challenging. Most described the play as moving, and powerful. "Astounding", "A super play" "Beautifully presented" "It made me quite emotional." "Incredible." From the Kaurna and Narungga theatre-maker Jacob Boehme comes a tale that honours the enduring strength of his female ancestors, the legacy of the cameleers, and the spirit of resistance etched into this place now called Adelaide. On Tuesday, as part of our partnership with @statetheatresa, we headed to the Opening Night of Logan Street, a beautifully local story that celebrates the people, friendships and quiet acts of care that have helped shape Australia, even if they don’t always make it into the history books. It was such a beautiful moving story - we loved it.

An added highlight was the delicious catering by @parwana.kitchen before the show (IYKYK ❤︎).

And of course, we loved seeing Petra looking incredible in our Sparkling Burgundy Cardi and Black Velvet A-line Skirt.

Logan St, by South Australian writer Jacob Boehme, is on at Space Theatre until 8 August.

👀 Jen is wearing the Renegade Shapeshifter with our new Tailored Blazer (landing super soon 👏).

Something remarkable is happening in Findhorn, Scotland this weekend…
These photos capture the welcome ceremony and rehearsals taking place as GUURANDA x RISE prepares to premiere a participatory ceremony rooted in Narungga creation stories and language, opening at RISE Festival of Contemporary Dance and Performance on this weekend, presented by Dance North Scotland.

Led by Narungga/Kaurna Artistic Director Jacob Boehme, the work brings together the Sing Moray Choir (who have spent six months learning Narungga language through online yarns with Narungga Elders), Dance North youth dancers, and local cultural experts Lynda Buchan and Lorna Steele-McGinn. Together they'll perform as a collective ceremony, closing the RISE Festival weekend.

For Narungga people, sharing these stories is a cultural responsibility, carried with care, with guidance, and with community. GUURANDA X is also an environmentally responsible touring model grounded in First Nations principles of caring for Country, travelling light and working with local artists and materials in each new place. The work recently made its first stop in Chennai, India, and now arrives in Scotland.

GUURANDA X grew out of the Global First Nations Dialogues at RISE, developed by BlakDance and supported by British Council through our Connections Through Culture programme. British Council is proud to continue supporting this work alongside BlakDance, Create SA, Creative Australia and Creative Scotland.

Day 33 - Green burial ground, Findhorn, Scotland

Appreciating the community support for @guuranda_x @ecovillagefindhorn to build set and move sand, and working with the wonderful team led by @jacobboehme, Narungga family Aubty Ninny Newchurch @karrajnam @kctaunoabrown_ and Scottish dancers @heywooddance @alex_mulcahy plus great youth dancers @dancenorthscot

The creative process with new collaborators and community participants requires a good deal of adaptation.

There is vitally important cultural work being undertaken and shared. Care for Country is a protocol and powerful message. My job is to work with and support the team, and of course bring a climate lens, inspired by these protocols.
