Jacob’s “aha moment” came when he became a father. Overnight, his days were full and trying to juggle appointments, records, and questions about his health on top of that just wasn’t sustainable. Choosing functional medicine was, for him, about taking back control of a complex health picture and putting a team around him who could help him understand his labs, make a long-term plan, and protect his energy and health span so he can show up for his family now and in the years ahead. As you think about your own healthy family traditions, ask yourself: What’s one health goal that would be easier to reach with support, instead of managing it all on your own? This is healthcare designed for you, and for the people you love.

Such an honor to speak alongside these bright souls at the Help Hope Healing Conference! Though our experiences are quite different, we’re connected both in our desire to support others through lived expertise and break down mental health stigmas. It was 7 years ago that I first spoke about @the5bridges on this stage by generous invitation of @kevinhinesstory Returning to Southwest Virginia each year is such a joy. And expanding the reach of our programs throughout Virginia and beyond has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. On a personal note, I received some much-needed peer support today– I’m so grateful for my colleagues, especially you @samantha.crockett01 🙏🏼💚😊

The #1 lesson I’ve learned as a dad and social impact business leader so far… 👉 Modeling ideal behaviors is 1000x more effective than "telling" ideal behaviors. 👈 Ready to stop WISHING that you’re the leader, partner, parent, mentor or advocate that you want to be and actual BECOME the best version of yourself? ‘Cause here’s the truth: betting on “someday” will only leave you with regrets in the end. And shaming yourself for not being there now only leads to more of the same. Today is the only day that you have and you GET TO DECIDE what you do with your present circumstances. The ability to model ideal behaviors begins with having a solid foundation of wellness. Designing a self-care plan that actually WORKS for your actual life is your first step. @the5bridges provides the simple framework for you to customize your Wellness MAP along with the the tools and education to make it happen for you… for real this time. DM me with MAP and I’ll share my #1 resource for designing a custom life strategy to guide you to becoming the stressed-less, cycle-breaking, wellness-having best version of yourself. 💚 #leadership #entrepreneurlife #successful #successmindset #mentorship #businessmentor #mindset #inspiration #confidence #success #ambition #personalgrowth #parenting #family #parenthood #toddlerlife #familytime #letthembelittle #wellness #fitfam #balance #mentalhealth #recovery #mindset #lifestyle #mentalhealthawareness #metime #selfcompassion

The #1 lesson I’ve learned as a dad and social impact business leader so far… 👉 Modeling ideal behaviors is 1000x more effective than "telling" ideal behaviors. 👈 The days of getting away with “do as I say, not as I do” are over. Not only is that approach ineffective, the current culture and newer generations don’t buy it and won’t stand for it. If you want to affect change or even just be taken seriously as a leader, you have to walk the walk and and be a living example of what you promote. I’ve learned this the hard way. No, I’m not perfect at it, but my daily life looks pretty darn close to what I show you here. And if this kid from the trailer park can overcome childhood trauma, poverty, ADHD, rage, depression & anxiety to create a positive impact, I believe that you can too. Ready to stop WISHING that you’re the leader, partner, parent, mentor or advocate that you want to be and actual BECOME the best version of yourself? ‘Cause here’s the truth: betting on “someday” will only leave you with regrets in the end. Caffeine essentially functions the same way as a credit card. You're borrowing energy from your future self by delaying the fatigue you'll pay back in full later. The only way to actually increase your energy is to optimize your fuel intake and get adequate rest. There are truly no shortcuts to becoming a high-functioning and well individual. The most important thing to remember is that caffeine doesn't actually provide you with additional energy. Instead, it works by temporarily blocking adenosine receptors. Adenosine is a neurotransmitter that makes you tired, so when caffeine blocks the receptors, adenosine begins to accumulate and will eventually make you feel even more tired than before once the caffeine is cleared from your system. Click the link in bio for a few simple caffeine habits to keep in mind whenever possible to make sure it's leading you closer to your ideal self instead of further away. 👆 #coffeelover #coffeeaddict #coffeegram #coffeelovers #coffeelove #instacoffee #coffeeislife #coffeetime #coffeeoftheday #caffeine #morning #fuel #5bridges #holistichealth #publichealth #communityservices
