“Here’s the secret kids. None of us can vow to be perfect. In the end all we can do is promise to love each other with everything we’ve got. Because love’s the best thing we do.” — Ted Mosby

Nothing beats homemade pies. Thankfully, for those of use with inept baking skills, there are home-based food businesses that deliver (literally). One of them is @unrealpies, who makes apple crumble and blueberry cornmeal pies with unbleached flour, imported cornmeal and unsalted Italian butter in small batches. Check out which other pie makers we have on speed dial on our website. Link in bio. Photo by @rgmedestomas for Unreal Pies

Virtual travel is now the new normal and like the rest of us, our regular contributors have become homebodies too – but they still dream of traveling when this is all over. Today, Makati-based photographer RG Medestomas (@rgmedestomas) and stylist and writer Jacque De Borja (@jacquedeborja) tell us what’s on their #traveltomorrow lists.

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞?
JDB: Our routine is quite simple. I wake up and do my oil-pulling while RG makes his favorite cup of coffee. Mornings are quite slow. Then I prepare what to cook for lunch and dinner – I now love to look up recipes and cook. I also look forward to volunteering for Favor Church – I help out with a few tasks that we can do online. Then we plan our wedding during the pockets of free time that we have – we got engaged last December.

RGM: Nothing! I look forward to my coffee routine and Jacque's cooking. And Juancho (Jacque’s dog)! I love spending time with Juancho; I'm his favorite. And yes, we research and try to plan our 2021 wedding.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟?
JDB: That I'm an introvert! I enjoy staying at home, but really, this made me realize how much I value relationships, communication and physical touch.

RGM: I learned that I have a green thumb! Since the quarantine was implemented, I started caring for my plants more and they're growing and thriving. I get excited whenever my plants unfurl new leaves.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐈𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞... RGM: Go to the gym and work out, buy the things that I need for my condo (yeah, I miss True Value also) and visit my family, of course.

JDB: Go to church and see my friends – I miss our community and they're like family to me. Afterwards, I would have a meal at Yabu with RG, and then book a flight to see my family in New Jersey.
