It's always important for artists to create the work that they want to do as apposed to simply following a narrative ☺️✨ After all, narratives are always shifting. Thank you Jacques for your perspective! It's important to always view the world through a critical lens and decide for ourselves what we, as artists, follow what we feel is authentic to our own practice 💗

🎨Saying practice "more" can be too vague & unhelpful advice. What it usually means is artists should build a structured routine. Jacque is a full-time artist and treats his work as such, aiming for 8 hours a day like everyone else! He intentionally plans out his day into parts as he learned in his studies - try it out for yourself! ☺️✨

Call me a Xhosa Monalisa😍

Can’t get over all your feedback.

But the most outstanding comment is:

“There is something timeless about your portrait, it is a picture like in a history book, a telling of amaXhosa that had lived in the 1800s. It’s giving a timeless vibe. Ngathi kukhona umntu wakokweni amvusayo- it’s like the painter is reincarnating someone in your family”

This comment warms deeper parts of my heart. I felt that🤎🛖
