POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

“I Believe” from @bookofmormon music and lyrics by @treyandmatt and @bobbylopez441 - as a thank you to @thewrongcatdied for allowing me to be on their podcast I’m letting my new friend pick seven videos! This is 1/7! Go listen to me ramble - We built ourselves a heaven out of things we couldn’t prove
Then filled it full of strangers we were frightened we might love
We gave our doubts a melody, our foolishness a prayer
And found that even nonsense had a little truth to spare

For fifteen years the laughter’s risen, irreverent and loud
A thousand little heresies beneath a Broadway crowd
But underneath the blasphemy, beneath the grand disguise
A tender question looks humanity in the eyes

What if the point was never being certain we were right?
What if faith was just the courage to be gentle in the night?
What if all our sacred stories, whether fiction, fact, or song
Were maps we drew because the road to love was long?

There’s something holy in the fool who dares to sing off key,
Who finds a little paradise where paradise cannot be
Who takes the broken pieces of the world he thought he knew
And builds a better gospel out of what his heart can do

And isn’t that the theatre? A beautiful deceit
Where painted worlds become the ground beneath our weary feet
Where strangers sing their sorrows, and through some peculiar art
An imaginary person leaves a fingerprint upon the heart

Perhaps the greatest miracle was never in the sky
But in the way we learn to love without demanding why
For fifteen years they’ve made us laugh at everything we are
Then shown us how compassion is the brightest kind of star

And if the world is madness, if we’re foolish, flawed, and small
How wonderful that somewhere there’s a stage that holds it all
Where even our absurdities can blossom into art
And Broadway’s loudest laughter holds a quietly beating heart #thebookofmormon #treyparker #mattstone #ibelieve #kermit

Let’s go backstage! 🎭✨

The theater kid in me was freaking out going backstage at Broadway’s The Book of Mormon with Jacques C. Smith.

Broadway comes with so many moving pieces that you never realize from the audience. From morning vocal warm ups to physical therapy between shows and so much more.

If you want to learn more about a day in the life of a Broadway performer, comment “Backstage” for the full story ⬇️

It is Thursday, September 24, 2026, and keeping with my theme from yesterday, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge 30 years of a truly transformative musical: RENT.

There have been so many great musicals throughout the years, but when RENT first arrived in 1996, it introduced audiences to a side of musical theatre that we really hadn’t seen much of before. It was bold, honest, raw and different, and its impact on the musical landscape is still undeniable today.

What makes RENT even more special to me personally is that one of my dearest and closest friends, Jacques C. Smith, was a big part of the show for a long, long time.

I’ve talked over the years about how much Jacques means to me, and anyone who knows him knows what an incredibly talented artist and genuinely wonderful human being he is. I’m very fortunate to call him my friend.

So, thank you to RENT for everything it has brought to musical theatre and the impact it continues to have. And thank you to my good friend Jacques for being part of that incredible legacy.

Happy Thursday, everybody! ❤️🎭

Congratulations and happy trails to @feelinpurdygood as he plays his final performance in @bookofmormon tonight! I went back on Friday to see him play Elder Cunningham, and he's wonderful in the role! As much as I'm going to miss seeing him on the O'Neill stage, I'm excited for all of his future endeavors and to continue supporting him in other projects. We also got @henrymcginniss as Elder McKinley that night as a lovely bonus, and it was so great to see all the little things they both do to make those roles their own. #BookOfMormonMusical #BOM36 #UnderstudyAppreciation Selfie with Andrew Purdy at The Book Of Mormon stage door. We're both smiling and facing forward. I'm wearing a mask with a picture of Andrew Rannells singing "I Believe" printed on it, and I'm holding a signed Playbill in my left hand.

Los Angeles: This sweet boy NEEDS A HOME! He is a TNR(Trap, Neuter, Release)rescue. I recently brought him to the vet and got him checked out & up to date on all of his shots. We are moving in 2 months, and unfortunately, we can’t take him with us. As you can see, he is incredibly friendly & loving. If you are interested, or know someone who may be, please reach out. And please share in your stories! I’m trying to find him a forever home before we leave. 🐈

🌪️⚡️We got stuck in the storms and tornados of the Midwest for 3 days, unable to leave Chicago. We made friends with an amazing Manhattan theatre artist and the 3 of us laughed our way through a wild situation…

🌆Our trip to New York was cut down by more than half. There were people we didn’t get to see and places we couldn’t go, but what matters is that we made it and every moment of what we did experience was magic. I’d always dreamed of taking Orelia to the place that shaped me and that has always had my heart. She loved it.

The highlight was seeing my amazingly talented friend Jacques C. Smith in “The Book of Mormon.” Written by the “South Park” co-creators, it was hilarious beyond. Jacques had us backstage and showed Orelia the ropes of Broadway. 🎭 It was life-altering for her. 🙏🏽 Thank you, Jacques, for everything!

I can’t wait to start spending more time again in this beloved city 🏙️ that brings us so much joy…✨

525,600 minutes later, Everything is still Rent.
On this day one year ago, my previous page Alphabet City Archives was unfortunately shut down. But did I let that stop me? No! I decided to make this page and continue to do what I do best. I felt like I owed that to you, the fans and alumni who keep me going. Thank you all so much. This Rent train is gonna keep on going with know plans to slow down. I also wanna highlight the fact I have recently surpassed 1,000 followers. Thanks to all (at the time this is posted) 1,037 of you for rocking with me. And now to celebrate, enjoy this blast from the past as Jim Poulos, Manley Pope, and the cast performs “Rent” at the 1999 Broadway on Broadway free concert, recorded on September 12, 1999.
